Hi aka
I dont think you will get away with this once the Mods cotton on to what you are doing. As soon as they see the # they will moderate it anyway - I may be wrong.
Also, as I see by the last two posts here - a little more explaining may be in order.
The fact is you cannot put an external URL in forums, only internal links are allowed but external links are allowed on guide entries. Therefore I think what aka is doing, is to allow you to put an internal link to this page on a forum which will link to your external website.
A bit of wait and see - You may get away with it?
As most of my sites are used for business it would break the house rules anyway - I could convert one of them to personal though - which I have been planning to do but not found the time as yet.

Hi Vegiman
As long as the URL doesn't redirect instantly to an external website we don't have a problem with this.
As far as I can see, the link only directs to this internal h2g2 page, doesn't it? If so, that's okay.

I'm not really here Posted Sep 6, 2001
It's a very nice idea aka, but I wish you'd mentioned it to me as my name is on there. If the h2g2 editors hadn't posted here, I'd never have known.
It's not a great deal of help to me, as the link you have put here for me is on my user space anyway, so there's not a lot of need for it here.

I Know! I put a message on your space, alerting you to the fact it was up and running, and that you were listed but can change it if you disagree... And no, this isn't the h2g2 venture! It's something a LOT more fun!!

Well aka - it looks as if you have a go-er and in time it be used a quite a bit. I think that was Peta's style of writing but one can never be sure. One thing is for sure - you have the go ahead.
Great idea
As soon as I have URL that does not break the guide line - I'll let you know.
cacha soon

Peta, Abi, Mark.. whoever that was! You KNOW the refresh thingy? I can't figure it out! I have this thing on my personal site that needs to update every x amount of seconds. You wouldmn't have the Coding for this would you? I've completely forgotten it!
besides it goes in the META / HEAD Tags... we can't control them, we only get to change the second BODY Tags as far as i'm aware and hEAD tags are just refused!
One more thing, Bring back the BGSOUND thing! Please? I can't see how any sound might break any rules... ish, But You wouldn't have this problem with US! I mean, there was ONE person about a month-ish ago who was likely to break the rules in any way, but the less said about that the better! Anyway, I Think Veggie would like a nicely stylish or tag gizmo, too! Am I right, Veg?
aka
OH, and mina i don't think you replied to it so dno't worry about your memory

Probably best to ask that in the GuideML Clinic or Ask h2g2 - even though it isn't something that's supported on h2g2, as you've spotted.
They'll know the answer.
And feature suggestions have their own spot in the Feedback Forums too...

I was about to say that aka's site description makes that row of the table a bit tall, but it looks a lot better when viewing as an A number rather than the U number. So if you're posting a link to the page in a forum it's probably better to use the A number one. (following me?)

You're just jealous..!
It's quite rare now that the .dom domain name of your name is available. I had to slightly modify mine to get the name...
