If Stephen Fry had been in the Smiths...

...it would've been the greatest thing ever in the world ever ever. Posted a couple of comments to the Smiths conversation last night. Absolutely love them to bits. Anyway, read the postings.
Uncannily, I'm reading The Hippopotamus by Stephen Fry at the moment, it is brilliant, as indeed are all his books. A lovely chappie as well as achingly funny.
Cheers MozandMarr - you have tastes that should be saluted! Except the Chelsea thing. I'm a similarly sold out Hammer.

Cheers for the compliments!
Finished 'The Stars Tennis Balls' for the second time this weekend. Great book. Just started reading the count of monte cristo, which it is based on. Love The Hippopotomas. Won't say anything in case you haven't read it before but i have an opinion about what it is about. Mmm is that intriguing enough?
Hey if you're a Hammer you can't help with the missing letters on my cockney alphabet can you? Driving me crazy now!
Cool name. Love that album. Look forward to reading your Suede article. My girlfriend was once chatted up by Neil Codling while they were both studying English at Hull Uni. Turned him down because she was already seeing me! Is that a claim to faim? Very tenuous if it is!!!

I have a tremendous amount of East London relatives, and spent a great deal of my childhood there. During a brief moment when I wasn't selling watches out of a suitcase, doing the Lambeth Walk or rolling out the barrell, I was also introduced to this perplexing nonsense. I can't remember a great deal of it now, except that O was definitely 'for my dead body'. Definitely.
Key: Complain about this post
