Not much point in making an announcement here as EV got there first, but just to say that mother and baby are now at home, huzzah! Wee Jennifer seems to be settling in okay and hasn't cried (yet) and I'm about to tuck into some decent food..mmm, pizza...!

Excellent! Enjoy that pizza. I assume it's too soon to offer Jennifer a little bit of it? Nah, best stick to the tried & trusted method of babe feeding.
Now, feet up, practice looking Madonna like* & wait for all the admiring visitors!
*As in serene & beatific, not as in charging around on stage in a pointy bra.

I just want to sleep uninterrupted for more than two hours! It's not so much the babby as having a line of staples along my belly making me go 'ooyah!' whenever I move

Yeah, staples So I have to wear Bridget Jones style pants so there's no chafing. Thing is, I don't have many of those types of pants so maybe a trip to Primark for some cheap granny knickers is in order

Sorry to be daft - I thought you had a standard delivery, but staples make me think of cesarian? Ach. Nevermind.
Steal some of EV's Y-fronts?

Yep, I got an emergency Caesarean for 'failure to progress'. Sounds quite ominous really! The midwife came round today and checked my wound, which seems to be healing nicely. The staples come out on Tuesday, but I may well be wearing EV's boxers for a while after that

Sorry to hear that . And I am very pleased that it all ended well!!!
For my daughter, they were ready to put a suction cup on her head and pull her out, because her heart went slower than it should. But I guess the panic about it made me push her out hard enough, so I made it. But it was close. She was too far down for a C-section. Second baby was much faster!

Take care now you, hope you get some sensible sleep in some sensible pants soon if not already.
And enjoy the good grub.

How people can do it without drugs is beyond me. I've met girls who have done it just with the Entonox - wonderful stuff! - but why do it without anything at all?
Sensible sleep is hard to come by at the moment but I think I'm on top of it - thank Bob for !

I found the only way to get a good amount of sleep was to catch some when josh did..luckily for the first couple of weeks he was pretty much always asleep unless he wanted fed and changed so i didnt do too badly..you'll need all your energy for when she's more alert so sod the housework etc bar the absolute esssentials and save some up now..

Aye, I just take naps here and there to keep energy levels up. She still hasn't settled down at night properly yet but her daytime routine is pretty reliable. She wakes up around 1 am and 4 am which isn't too bad as I do one feed and EV does the other, but it's harder to settle her at night for some reason
