The Sub badge has gone and I don't think I'll be writing any more entries for h2g2, but if things change I may change my mind...

I'm not inclined to leave just yet. There's some kind of action plan being worked out on the WJH thread. What I want to know is whether anyone has explicitly contacted the italics, and whether we know that his next transgression will earn him a suspension, not just another session on pre-mod.

This afternoon's 'Info' page, half the active threads were a play on 'What the f**k's going on? Why is h2g2 imploding? Oh the humanity!' etc.

Oh, apparently calling someone a flooding, spamming troll is against house rules.

Even when they are.

We seem to have one set of house rules for one researcher, and another for everyone else.

just in case anyone wants to, I seem to recall seeing pages on pages of flooding posts from LW on teh 'what form of transport have you.....' thread well, spamming and flooding as they were near identicle and with no ohter posts being made by others inbetween them.... probably a few pages back though maybe if enough of previous, older postings are also picked up and yikisied then it'l get noticed and something (hopefully not just more premod) happen

There's so much nastiness around at the moment.

As Blueshark said, "it's only a chuffin website" but for many h2g2 is our escape from the real world. And when someone like Dr Worm comes along, spoils it and doesn't take kindly to nice suggestions people like me get annoyed.

It's a bit more than that, though, isn't it? It's a real community, where people give and receive useful and helpful advice and support. And twice a year we seem strangely compelled to stand in the same room as a bunch of people who would otherwise be strangers, and consumer mind-altering quantities of fermented vegetable products.
