That rings some bells for me, TC! Tell us what your husband says.
Practice vs practise - does this help, TiThttp://www.grammar-monster.com/lessons/lpractice.htm
I think Americans use 'practice as both noun and verb, which complicates matters.

Traveller, do you know about "advise" and "advice"? These two are normally easier because they are pronounced differently. Advise is the verb and advice is the noun. It's the same with practise and practice (in British English).
I'm the world's worst offender - Recumbentman explained this rule to me. Many of my older Edited Entries have it the wrong way around, and R delights in pointing these out.

Good old days when I lived in blissfull ignorance. Will have to practise ignoransing ."

Ah. Lucky him that he has mild dyslexia. I have seen those coloured glasses and they seem to be a good idea. They seem to work very well. I hope little will like wearing lace up shoes. How old is he?

Little is nine, Gazongola. He has put on and tied his own shoelaces every day this week (ie since he learned to do it), so he's really taken to it. The dyslexia just seems to show up as 'b' and 'd' and 'p' and 'q' being written the wrong way round sometimes.
Naughty Recumbentman, Gnomon! He should know that it's the Sub-editor's responsibility to get things right!
At least the rule is fairly simple, TiT! with it!

Groovy. Tell him to'keep tying' from me. Lace tying is one skill we all know, but I remember when I was young it was a mammoth task!
(When I was young? I am getting old at 15)!

Old at 15?! Well, I do remember that there are some things that you only have a short window of opportunity to learn to do - I can't remember what they are, but learning to speak may be one of those - and if you've not learned to do them by a certain age, you never learn them. I don't think that shoelace tying is one of them, though.
Once he got it, there was no stopping him. He'll have a good opportunity this week (he's away at an environmental centre - his first week away from me) to practice as he's only taken his laced trainers with him. He learned the two loops method - not the way I learned.

No, I'm not feeling lost without him, but I am wondering how he is getting on.

I do appreciate the , though! It's just what I need at the moment.

That place reminds me of when I went to a house when our school was being done by Gallifords. It was groovy. But no TV signal! It was murder seeing a TV in the corner but not being able to watch it.

No TV for little - they went to the 18th century Barn and played games and chatted. There was pool and ping-pong and giant Connect Four and a giant karaoke machine that they danced to.
