I 'spose we've all been lucky on occasion. Cameras, cell phones, watches, etc. go in the drink every day.

Good thing that radio hadn't been plugged in!!

Apparently the most common catastrophe which hits mobile phones is being dropped down the toilet

Luckily it was a battery operated radio, Fords, otherwise I would have fried. Mind you, I don't think I would have been so stupid even at the age of 12 or 13 to have electicity in a bathroom.

I did almost have mine lock on me though - it used to be R's and one of the locks is mine and the other was a personal number to his - and I forgot it. I panicked a bit, then phoned him on a land-line to get the number.

Dropping the cell in the loo reminds me of one of my favorite Dilbert comic strips.

Dilbert goes to his boss to ask for a new company cell phone because he dropped his in the loo. The boss asks why he didn't fish it out and he replied that he did try, but dropped his pager in during the process. So, the boss asks again why he didn't fish them out, and Dilbert replied that when he bent over, all of his shirt pocket's pens and pencils fell in jamming it all in tightly!

Reminds me of some of my products at home. Each one I begin seems to generate two or three more.

- those sound like little 's excuses when he doesn't want to do something. I'm taking him to get his cast off today and suddenly he can't wear his school shirt as it's difficult to get over his cast. Not for the past four weeks, though!

Oh he's fine, Websailor - he was a little bit squeamish when the nurse took off his cast - she used a circular saw and he was a bit frightened of her cutting into him. I wasn't worried - she does this for a living! The bit under the cast was a bit pongy though and his skin had gone a bit dry. Nothing that a good wash and a bit of moisturiser can't fix, though.

Yes, I'm OK. Little had a big strop last night - I think it was about having to go to school that day.

I remember getting my cast cut off with a giant shears. I still have the scars on my upper arm 40 years later.

My brother once cut off casts from both his arms with a kitchen knife in a friend's kitchen.

He broke both wrists by jumping off a first storey 'balcony' onto concrete - everyone had come out of the old cinema and was heading for macdonalds and he was trying to avoid queuing. Possibly was also showing off in front of girls. Or trying to. Can't imagine that was very impressive. Had to be forced to go to hospital as well...

I know someone who broke both arms in a motorcycle crash. I can't imagine how difficult life must be without use of both arms. I imagine your brother had to be fed?

No, as it was his wrists he have his hands and thumbs free, and his elbows, so although he was less flexible he could manage. I don't remember it much, as it was a long time ago (he's 43 now).

I broke my arm jumping off a swing. I jumped at the wrong moment and went straight up instead of outwards. Unfortunately, after going straight up, I came straight down, and landed on my arm.

See now, that's why us adults should stay off of swings!

I had a swing swung into my forehead when I was 4 and I still have the battle scar
