Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I've resigned as an Ace and asked for a break from scouting. I'm still feeling overwhelmed.smiley - blue I think I've just taken on more and more and more and its about time I set boundaries. I've still two entries to sub.

I need to feel under less pressure, and then perhaps I can get back my joie de vivre.

Gnomon - time to move on

The nice thing about writing entries, which is what I do for h2g2, is that I set my own deadlines.

No, I won't desert you! However, I hope I shall feel rather less guilty for a while at not doing my job properly. I was never much of an Ace, however I was a very good scout and I've enjoyed doing the subbing and I'm told I'm highly regarded in that.

smiley - wowFive stars, Fb?! I shall wear them with pride. smiley - biggrin

Maybe I'll find time to finish all the entries I have started in hope ... although I'm not making any promises ... I don't want to put myself under any pressure for a while.

Hi, smiley - fishsmiley - musicalnote

Well, about time toosmiley - doh You may recall that I, too suggested you had to cut down. I am so glad you have finally taken it to heart.

Now see here, don't you get feeling guilty - you're notsmiley - huh - then you are making progress smiley - rofl I have had to do the same, and jettison some of the things I enjoy but which were too oppressive. I also asked on another thread - why do I feel guilty when I do something I enjoy? There is always something "more important" I should be doing.

I do hope you find that this is enough to get you on an even keel again. After all, the priority in your life is little smiley - fish, or am I wrongsmiley - huh

Do take care, but don't lose touch. Just regard us as relaxation, and a shoulder to cry on if you need it.

Yes, Websailorsmiley - dragon

I also feel guilty doing stuff I like sometimes. Oh the world of 'shoulds' and 'oughts' is a grim one, isn't it!

Little smiley - fish asked me yesterday if I could have anything in the world, what would it be and I told him, 'A good night's sleep'. One of the things my Human Design reading told me was that I ought not to make promises that I will find myself under pressure to keep.

A shoulder to cry on ... I've been feeling confused recently ... not quite certain where I want to go or what I should be doing. I'm not saying it's a bad place to be - uncertainty can be just as interesting as being certain ... and fixed.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I have a tendency to take on too much and then be surprised when I feel under pressure to perform. There are times when I'm my own worst enemy in that way.smiley - doh I hate breaking promises I've made to other people, and feel a failure when I break a promise I've made to myself.

It is a particularly female tendency, to impose standards on ourselves, which we do not consider appropriate for others to adopt.

Show me a woman who does not struggle with this, and I'll show you a pig flying.

There may be such women, but I don't know any personally, Fb!

Talking about flying, however, I have a great entry in progress - A3227870. When I was a child, I really wanted to grow up to be a pilot! I had hero(in)es like Amy johnson and Amelia Erhardt - and Biggles!
