. I've read the Harry Potter books at least twice and some three times, including out loud to little

You obviously didn't go at the right time to see LOTR. We went at 11 am on a Monday - the place was almost empty. Not so much atmosphere, mind you. However, I'm sure you wouldn't have minded that, disliking crowds.
The Harry Potter film does look good, though.

We went on the release day, Wednesday 17th December (etched on my memory), of Return of the King. It was the 11.20am showing, and we thought that it'd be quiet like it had been the previous two years, but it was packed -

I've seen the previews of the Harry Potter films, and they do look great.

i know...we couldn't believe it either. i think it must have been because it was the final one.
