Yes, the PCEG is quite a vibrant little group and has produced a book, 'Our Common Story'. Plumstead Common was the centre for riots against enclosure and won the right to be protected in perpetuity.
There has been a couple of problems during the summer time, though. Yobs driving on the common and the cars/bikes ripping up the grass and setting light to the shrubbery, known locally as 'blazing', which has left a bank blackened
. Some young chestnut trees which have been planted have been decapitated, pushed over and generally killed
. The common has also been a place for drunks to gather, sitting on the seats. Probably harmless, but nonetheless they can be threatening looking.

Up here we call them *Neds*, and, unfortunately, there's loads of them doing exactly the same!
It gets me so angry!
We have a local nature reserve, Perchy Pond, a wonderful pond and woodland, raised blanket bog (very rare habitat) and grassland which has a fabulous variety of fauna and flora ! But,
the *Neds* just have to make it their purpose in life to try to destroy it! Luckily, there are some local people who care enough to try to put it right again!

Neds. eh, Prideth ? Wonder where that came from?
They say that peoplesee life and act as they are inside. The Neds must have a pretty low self image. How sad to find joy in destruction and ugliness and how wonderful to be a creator and conserver.

....now you come to mention it Z
, I'm not exactly sure where "Ned" comes from. I don't know the derivitive, but I do know the place it originated: Glasgow.
Hear! Hear! I wholeheartedly agree with your philosophy on Neds, and on creators/conservers.
.....more of the latter, and less of the former, please....
Oops! Actually let's have *none* of the former!

Could it be something to do with an Edward? Ned is a contraction of this?
But yes, more creators, less destroyers!

....I'm just guessing, as I'm not sure, but, Edward - King Edward - Tattie heid??? That would certainly fit a Ned! I just asked my hubby as he's a west-coaster, but he doesn't know either. There's certainly not a famine of them, unfortunately!

made it back Z
!
You were asking about the boys?
Well, there are two of them, as you know, eldest is 16 years old and is studying computing and digital media at college. The young'un is 14 years old, still at school, ( of course he's still at school!) and enjoys art and music, (he's learning to play the guitar). The eldest is very like me, and the young'un's very like his dad. They are two smashin' boys, and, as you'll imagine, I'm really proud of both of them.
There's more....as Frank Carson would say, but, I'll leave it for another time, as I've got to . All this
ning around is really getting me fit!
See ya later Z

Roy saw it yesterday too! I'm rather envious. I couldn't take the time off work and he didn't want to see it with little , who would have been too excited. He goes to the front of the theatre and does twirls. Apparently it upsets some of the grown ups. Didn't bother me, as there's a whole screen to see, so why bother looking at a tiny who's just having fun. It's not as though he's loud or anything - just a bit excited.
I'm told LOTR 3 is wonderful. I hope you enjoyed it, Prideth

Awwwh, Z
, what a shame you had to miss it!
Enjoy it? The only thing that stopped me from running to the front and doing twirls of excitement, was the fact that I'm *not* a tiny! Go'n yersel' little
!
That's these BOFs again Z
. Instead of getting great joy out of seeing a wee yin having so much fun, (that's even if they can see him, as you said), they have to be all *grown* up about it!
It was truly magical, and I'm sure you'll think so too *when* you get going to see it. Enjoy!

Oh, you're calling Roy a BOF, Prideth ! (actually, between you and me, I did think he was being a bit of one in this instance <shh>
LOTR was truly wonderful. We stopped right to the very end and watched *all* the credits.
Now little is all excited about seeing the next Harry Potter, which is being advertised in the cinema too. We went to see Brother Bear on Saturday. It was really
. And it's a 'U' film!

Prideth - Queen dragon - protector of otters, and otternuts alike Posted Jan 4, 2004
Oops! So
Z
...it's only just dawned on me that it could come across that way...
I'm sure he's not generally a BOF at all,
I don't tend to go to the cinema really, ( crowds!) but as it was LOTR, and I'd been waiting for years for someone to make the stories into such wonderful films, I made an exception. And, boy, was it worth it!
My only objection was, that we were huckled out like cattle, so I didn't see the credits, BOOO!
I can fully understand little 's excitement
at the thought of the new Harry Potter. I've not seen any of them yet, I'll wait till they come on the telly, or I get a TV and DVD that actually work, whichever comes first
. I've read, and loved the books though,
. I'm not
about admitting it either,
.
