I saw the article on Arabic dance on the front page today, and have to admit to feeling rather put out to say the least...

It sounds remarkably similar to the article that I wrote and showed you in December last year - you wanted to edit it for this site I believe?. A link at least to my article would have been nice.

Just seen this, LSF - however I didn't write this entry.

I was allocated it to sub-edit, but I didn't even do that because of pressure of outside work, so I was struck off as a sub-editor. Ah, my names's on the credit list - probably because of the sub-edit allocation. I wonder why I wasn't taken off. Redheadbellydancer was the person who wrote it.

I've not spent much time on h2g2 recently.

Little 's road accident also gave me other things to think about.

I was a bit put out when I left you that message...
It's just that the project took me ages to do and when I saw a rather similar entry make it to the front page with you associated with it I got rather cross.

Also as redhead used a lot of the same sources as me I thought that she should link to them or mention the original authors at least.


Sorry to hear about little accident - I haven't been around much on h2g2 either due to pc problems and being ready to pop! I've been getting quite upset and annoyed at the hassle that my midwife has been giving me about being induced - I'm not even technically overdue until the 24th!

Yes, I could tell, however I didn't take it personally - I could see why you came to that conclusion and I was a bit worried that you might be upset with me for not replying sooner and apparently ignoring you. I just didn't see the message. To be honest, I didn't even know that my name was on the entry - I didn't contribute to it in the slightest.

Redheadedbellydancer appears to have been a one-entry wonder, though. As far as I can tell, she hasn't been on site since the entry hit the front page. It was interesting that the sub asked her if she had seen your unedited entry. If she had used material from it, then you should have been credited as co-author. She wouldn't have been allowed to have linked to your entry, as it isn't edited.

I'm sorry to hear that your midwife is giving you hassle. I certainly wouldn't want to be induced, and it seems you don't either. I'm sure that baby will arrive in its own due time. There aren't any indications that you should be induced, are there? I hope all goes will.

Little is fine - I think the shock of it all - being taken to hospital, the x-rays, his headmaster being there with him, etc - has been a salutory lesson for him and it has made him more focussed not only when crossing the road, but also in school generally (and it's given him some street-cred with his school-mates). So some good has come out of it.

I'm glad we are still friends!
