I was going to do something of this nature in my home state of Florida/ USA in conserving and researching box turtles. I am currently starting school to become a zoologist ( Well acctually i have to do about 2 years of general education before I get to start the good stuff!) and was thinking about doing this project for some experience.I was just wondering how was your experience in Africa? and is it worth the expence?

Ok, so i haven't checked h2g2 in so long so i'm sorry to anyone i never replied to... i've just been really busy and don't have good computer access anymore. What lame excuses i know i know. So Africa, i had a great time, i think it's good that i have had some experience of doing fieldwork in another country, it also helped me to decide what i really want to do with my life which is well, still pretty vague but at least i've narrowed in on teh chosen area. If i was to do the same thing again i would go with a company that offered a chance to be kept on as permenant staff afterwards and i would choose a company that was scientificly orientated compared to one that was just a gap year project. I probably won't check h2g2 for a while so if you want to get back to me email me at [email protected]
