I see that you have got it all working now ... That's great!! You can change anything as you go - there's no rush ... just settle back and take it slow ... if you need help and I am not on line (you can check by using the "Who's on Line" button) you can ask any of the ACEs or, for that matter anyone else - they will usually point you in the right direction

Oh Thanks...Tu hablo Espanol...mejor de yo? es un lengua bueno pero es muy dificil, y no hay personas en mi barrio para practica mi espanol con!

Anyway if you didnt understand that its ok...it was pretty rubbish. Yeah i'll check out your site...the guideml thing was just a test for me...ill use it as i learn more to put in more effects and text things...use it as a testboard for my other entires...thanks for taking the inerest anyway.

I think my reply was moderated because it was in Spanish and the moderators haven't got a clue what I was talkin about...If your a moderator reading this now, i assure you that it was harmless, I was talkin about how it was great that someone else new a bit of spanish and that it would be nice to practice with people on h2g2 as there arent any people in my area who speak spanish. If this is the case then i apologise profusely...I wasnt aware that the year was 1984 and that we are in a big Brother society but in future i will attempt to make sure that my language is nice and simple for the fascist goons who feel the need to censor peoples entries because they're to intelligent!

Im sorry if anyone takes offence at my views but I take offence when my messages are confiscated because i choose to try and have intelligent conversation in a foreign language.

To the moderator-

I have just checkde over the house rule again and found that there is a ruling about foreign languages.

It appears to be there as a matter of courtesy, whereby people are not confused by people slipping in foreign words or phrases.

Could I make you aware that my entry was in good spirit to someone who i was under the impression also spoke spanish so would therefore not be confused by my statement.

May I also make the moderator aware that i was replying to a person who had initiated the conversation in spanish by saying "hola" which I interpreted to mean that they had some knowledge of the language and would therfore not be bothered if i responded in kind.

Would it not be better to simply allow that person to reply to me and if they felt that i had in some way insulted, be-littled or patronised them then i could simply be notified. In which case i would simply apologise for my "lack of consideration"

If i did cause offence be replying using some spanish i do apologise, sincerely and wish to make you awrae that no harm was intended, i merely hoped that i had found someone to prctice my spanish with online.

I thought the spirit of H2G2 weas learning... this is an encyclopedia isn't it?

Sorry Prof, we're not supposed to use 'foreign' languages at h2g2 (that is - other languages than English) - I'm afraid my 'Hola!' might have given you reason to believe you could respond in Spanish..

To tell you the truth, my Spanish isn't all that good - what I know I've mostly learnt from various Sevillanas lyrics - and how useful are those in everyday life, I ask you?

I'm not happy with the 'non-English' rule either, but there is so much more to this site, that I for one am ready to accept it, although reluctantly..

Yeah sorry got a bit wound up a bit yesterday about that. Well I wont try to speak in spanish again...my spanish isnt great but i just thought it'd be "fun" to tech each other a bit. Anyway I wont in future and i have to say that im a bit disalusioned now. Oh well, we live and learn.
