Oh, I quit having nightmares years ago. I just hate the fears of the night that surface while you're awake.

Yeah, now, when I'm having a nightmare, I just can't get frightened. I instead get very angry.
Dead serious, last time I found a monster in my dreams, I actually SWORE at it, and then proceeded to head-butt it. That was when I woke up.

Legion has infinite love, and would never desert his worshippers smiley - winkeye

Personally I have nothing but respect for people who have faith as a result of some process of learning or maturing - it may happen to me some day! What gets to me is I have people trying to push religion on me at my school, and I know no surer way of turning someone off it. I'll take note of those titles though.

The shrine of Legion indeed! smiley - laugh

The nightmares that surface when awake are the worst nightmares of all.

At least if they happen at night we can put them down to `bad dreams` and try to forget about them.

I know what you mean about the anger!

What on earth or heaven gives anything the right to terrorise us?! A headbutt definitely sounds like justifiable retribution. smiley - smiley

Legion.

The relief of knowing that you would not desert us gives one a sense of relief that is incomparable. smiley - smiley

I totally agree with you. To those who have reached faith through learning or maturing (or both), I offer my respects.

What I object to are believers who believe because they are told to.

This is not to say that I abhor these people, quite the opposite. (smiley - sorry time to jump off the soap box. smiley - biggrin)

The Shrine of Legion is alive and kicking now that the honoured one is back among us. smiley - laughsmiley - laugh

It is the fact that man has come to believe in religion before believing in God. Why do you think the crusades happened? Christians thought that killing in the name of God would be good. Never bothered to check the fact that the ten commandments aren't very leinient, and have no subclauses...

Seriously, though. It was a lot of fun, the headbut. I'm learning how to fly. Suprising, isn't it? You can make yourself remember your dreams...

SOME believe in religion before God.

Most of the time, it is simply a case of `they don`t know where else to look or are afraid too`!!

Personally, I think that this is too `in depth` a subject to be covered in conversations in hootoo. I also think that the choices people make are designated by their natures.

If someone is determined to seek out truth at all costs, the results of their beliefs would be totally different to someone who is prepared to believe in whatever `truth` is told to them.

I think that originally, the crusades were brought about by a wish of the `upper levels` of the church to establish their control over the minorities and to stamp out any opposition.

The final and most heartbreaking thing of all, is that in the end, it all comes down to money and greed.

The Knights Templar were `condemned` because the power their reputation held and the money in their coffers became too much of a threat to the leaders of the church. Therefore, they had to be eliminated.

I could go on about this subject, but I don`t think I should. I feel I have said enough for now. smiley - biggrin

I know what you mean about the satisfaction of headbutting the `nasty`. Its a good feeling isnt it? smiley - biggrin

You`re learning how to fly.
I would really like it you could explain this in a little more detail to me because I am not sure what you mean.
I am assuming that you are not talking `literally` but `metaphorically`.

On a lighter note... if you were talking `literally`, I would have to assume that YOU are the one who `pinched` my broomstick. smiley - smiley

Dreams.
I do believe that these are extremely important.
A little secret that I shall tell is that, at one time, I would not retire without notebook and pen by the bedside to note down dreams!

I have been remiss of this of late, but that shall be rectified thanks to your reminder Mystrunner. smiley - smiley

As a last thought for now, I would say that `religion` and `spirituality` are two of the things that can cause the greatest descent among us `thinking` beings.

My Mother and I used to be proprietors of a pub and in most pubs, there are rules....
Never talk about religion or politics!!

Destined for trouble. smiley - smiley

Oh, flying in dreams is interesting.

You must learn to memorize that feeling that you get in an elevator when it starts moving down, when your body and most of all, mind, feels that it should be in the air. You get that feeling when you fall, I might add.

Well, in your dream, jump, and when you hit the crest of your "arc of flight" grasp hold of that feeling, and you should manage to glide for at least a few yards. It actually works! With practise, I hope yo be able to remain in the air... smiley - winkeye

Hate to say this, but in MY dreams, I don`t `glide`, I fly.

To `glide` suggests that we are subject to the whims of the winds etc.

To `fly` should indicate that we are free of all these restrictions and are simply `winged`.

Elevators I travel in 5 out of 7 days a week and yes, that feeling you get when they are either just about to stop or are just starting is quite `tummy turning`.

Do you meditate or have you ever?

I ask simply because if one wants to know the feeling of flight, that is the only way. smiley - smiley
