Quite alright; in fact that phrase goes through my head most times I see my screen name. Although I was recently forced to read a rubbishy kiddies bible, where the phrase had been altered to "My name is Mob - because there are so many of us!" It nearly drove me to violence
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 8, 2002
Glad to know I`m forgiven.
Mob!!! What WILL they think of next?!
Have you ever seen `Storm of the Century`? `Legion` is in that and he/they are also in the game Shadowman!
Both definite favourites.

Mr. Legion Posted Nov 8, 2002
I've seen 'Storm of the Century' alright, and thought it was really good. Apparently he was also a recurring character on 'Millennium', the show by Chris Carter that was cancelled, but I never saw it. So there you go - my influence seeps through the media
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 9, 2002
Millenium is still on isn`t it?!
I have to admit that I have a `soft spot` for Legion. Always have, so that says a lot for me.
I have `Storm of the Century` on tape... like I said, a definite favourite.
I hadn`t used to like anything by Mr. King but I do now. I`ve got other things of his such as The Langoliers and Salems Lot (also on tape).
I should check up on something actually because I have heard both `My name is Legion for we are many` AND `OUR name is Legion for we are many`. Personally, I prefer the former.

How mean is Jesus, man?
I finaly read that bit on your page. It was... well if nothing else it was creepy.
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 12, 2002
Jesus was ... 'astute' I think!!
Put it this way, had he been born in this century, he would be far richer than any of US!
To change the subject a little... has anyone seen the films entitled 'The Prohecy' and its follow-ups?
I shall leave it there.
(Legion! I agree with you about the names on h2g2 being 'sexless'!
SOME aren't! As for myself, my name probably IS which is why I sign off in my real name of Jane! Don't think too many males would be called 'Jane', but if they are, they have my sympathies! )

My middle name is Kristen, which means "She of Christian faith."
This ammuses me immensely.
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 14, 2002
I'm from Irish Catholic blood, but its a more a mix of Irish and Welsh Romany. (With emphasis on the Romany because I think that has the largest influence.)
I can honestly say that I haven't yet come across a 'Male Mary', only a 'Hail Mary'!!
(It's one of those days!)
'Kristen' being 'she of christian faith'... well, according to my knowledge.. 'Jane' means 'by the grace of God'!! That leaves us BOTH with something to smile about.
Seriously, I have my own beliefs. I donot subscribe to doctrine and I made sure that my children didn't either.
Time to leave that subject I think.

Think it's going to get you into trouble, do you? Ehhh, I don't mind, I'm by no means an ætheist, but I by no means believe in that god guy. So it's all with me.

I`m not an atheist... I do believe that theres `something` or `someone` there.. what people choose to name this `entity` is entirely up to them!
Could even be `Legion`
I do admit that due to past experience, I have learnt to `keep my mouth shut` for most of the time. but occasionally, my `tongue` gets the better of me!
I have looked into many `religions` and spiritualities in the past. The one I found to be closest to my own beliefs, I would prefer not to mention for the moment.
What I DID discover is that `religion` is totally different to spirituality. `Religion` is generally something that is `taught` and `spirituality` is something that is `felt`.
Thats just my opinion of course. :-

Could be Legion indeed, I'm saying nothing...
I've always felt the same way, BTW. 'Religion' seems to me to be a very human institution, subject to all the failings and foibles of human nature. But spirituality is a more personal thing, a kind of gut feeling...meh, I'm rambling. But you know what I mean I think the preferred term for one such as myself is 'agnostic'.
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 18, 2002
Could indeed be `Legion`!
Agnostic! Unfortunately, I don`t think that I could describe myself as that.
I have tried! Oh yes, I have put my `faith` through many tests. Faith in `WHAT`, I don`t know, I just know that there is `something` there!
WHAT, I don`t know!! Over time, I just came to the conclusion that I should go with my `gut instincts`.
`Religion` is a ..... how can I put it....an `escape route` for those who are either afraid to `question` or just want an easy road to salvation.
To follow blindly is not to follow at all. Thats a little saying that I ve just made up.
As for myself, I would just prefer to know truth... no matter what that truth maybe.
AND.. now I`ve done it! Said too much as usual!
I`d better go.

I know I worship at the shrine of Leigon...
OS long, that is, as he continues to wear that schoolboy uniform.

Mystrunner Posted Nov 27, 2002
Man comes to believe in religion INSTEAD of God...
That's why we got the Crusades, Hitler's holocost, and so much other .
Sorry, I kinda feel out of place. I am a Christian. As my probably only attempt at conversion, if you ever read anything besides the Bible about God, read C.S. Lewis's "Mere Christianity".
I had enourmous doubts. It changed me around...
*Gets off soapbox.*
Sorry. Honour bound to do that at least once. And do try to read it if you get a chance. It is actually intertaining, which is a big change...
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 27, 2002
Worship at the shrine of Legion indeed
On a more serious note... Mystrunner.
Don`t apologise for having belief! If you`ve questioned, searched and found your answers... thats fantastic.
As for myself, I donot `disbelieve`. I believe there is `something`, but I will not give it a name because I don`t feel I can.
I searched and came to the conclusion that I shall follow my own. If it feels right inside, then thats got to be right.
I don`t like so-called religions who use various `versions` of the bible! There is no such thing. There either IS a bible or there isn`t!! Not versions to suit individual groups.
I think its time for me to jump off the soap box now.
As an afterthought, I have made a note of the book you mentioned by CS Lewis.
I purchased a book called `The Trial` by Gordon Thomas and I have also read The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail. Both made for interesting reading.
Anyway, don`t feel out of place. No need.
Jane
PS It appears our Legion has abandoned us Jedi.

I started a disturbed book, and I'm not going to finish it. Its called the descent, about a labrynth world underneath the earth, filled with cannabilistic demons.
I don't want nightmares...
Legion..
Chovinano. Posted Nov 28, 2002
I hate to say this, but that sounds exactly like the type of book that I would like. Who`s the author please?
In my travels among the throngs of `religions` that are out there, I came across similar tales.
It really surprised me to be honest because it was to do with Buddhism.
Don`t have nightmares.
`Fear` or `dread` is one of the greatest weapons used against the thinking mind by those who know how to manipulate.
Nothing is real unless you allow it to be.
Have SWEET and PEACEFUL dreams.... I know you can.
Jane
