Conflicts
Posted Sep 18, 2001
Disaster and Terrorism strikes America and so strikes the western world. War is on the cards and vengeance is in the air. Being an oil based economy has it's disadvantages when the targets are next to the very oil fields that keep your country and army going. This isn't going to be pretty.
I seem recall that the Northern / Southern Ireland conflict started when Anne Boleyn persuaded King Henry the Eigth that he could split away from the Catholic church and start the Church of England. That descision has cost us countless lives and for what? The conflict continues today as strong as ever. It gets more deadly as each day goes by and this new conflict will be no different in that respect.
If we survive this one and manage to overcome it then maybe it will be time for both sides to reflect how pointless and savage it's all been. Maybe it will dawn on us all that throwing sticks and stones at each other because of words in a book written by men, not gods, isn't really going to help.
Maybe we'll just continue as we have before, in which case, by the time of the next extinction, we will have bought front row tickets.

Getting the hang of things.
Posted Aug 6, 2001
Slowly but surely, in the same way a cricket climbs up the wall of a seventeen story block of flats and ends up on the ceiling, I am beggining to make sense of things. I have even written an article on the adhesive properties of food.
Having completed this, I then had a look around on how to publish it. You could say that this article is less than usefull, just mildly entertaining. I doubt somehow that this will be a serious addition to the guide. Never mind. Onwards and upwards.

First Steps
Posted Aug 6, 2001
Day One. After a bottle of chilled Santragenean Fish Goo and a large helping of nut cutlet, I signed up. My first problem is finding my way about. After a quick mosey about I found the smileys page . Fantasic! Wrote a brief intro of wit and humour, at least it seemed like that when I wrote it. The Fish Goo seems to be taking it's toll.
My next problem is where to go next. So much to see and do. Not entirely sure whats occuring. I tell a lie, my next problem is remaining on my seat. The Fish Goo has seeped in to my nervous system. Maybe tomorrow I should .... .... zzzzzz
