Just to say I appreciate your encouragement and kind invitation/offer re. assisting in evaluating potential Academy postings! I shall do my best to uphold standards!
Of course, I should have known that someone with your self-evident style, impeccable taste and excellent judgement [well, you said something nice about something I'd written so you must have SOME of these positive qualities?????] would inevitably prove to be a fellow soul-mate 'cockeyed optimist' ( = Everton fan!!! ) Never mind, as I keep telling myself, next season can only be BETTER!!!

Hello again,
I can't understand Everton - lots of great players, but a real tendency to underachieve. The future's bright, though. Decent manager at last, lots of good young players coming through. It's not the losing I object to as much as the being boring and losing. I'd rather lose 6-2 than 4-0! Have you found the virtual football supporters club at A243677? If not, drop in and get a squad number!
Good luck with the guide entry - I think you'll have to put the opposite argument as well if you want it to be accepted, as they're very keen for entries to present both sides of the argument. I've just done a quick search, and there's nothing on children's literature, so if you can cover both sides of the debate, go for it!
