So.. just thought I'd explain how I imagine the virtual tour searching for kitchen equipment..
I suggest we try these places out one by one: C572
From 'The Coast' to 'The Beach' to A335846
Start a conversation where we arrive, and then we'll have a look around..

My sincere apologies for the delayed response, Lady Kristina, I will take you where you will.
* if I only knew how to add threads/links to conversations that is. Links in GuideML work fine on my page but not in threads, must be a different format, simialr to a '<'smiley'>' I imagine? Please help *

Dear Kristina,
I think you misunderstand the nature of my dilema...Tis not the format of how the link looks, and yes I know how to "discuss entries" when we get there, tis the the format of actually inserting one, a link that is, in a conversation.
EG: In GuideML I would use Ice Cream like that to get a link to the Ice Cream van for instance but this doesn't work in a conversation like this one....now you obviously know how to do it here as you have done it several times....
This way please!
Kristina the Flamenco Dancer - PS of Duende, Muse Posted May 17, 2002
Oh - sorry, I misunderstood you!http://www.h2g2.com/h2g2/skins/Alabaster/images/Smilies/f_smiley.gif" />
To put links in conversations, you can choose one way of many:
- either copy the entire link, including http://
- some pages, like user pages, or entries, or help pages, and sometimes even forums are really easy to link.. like my user page: U151707
(U 151707 but without the space)
- or, to make sure it does turn into a link, type < . / > immediately before and < / . > immediately after the link, but without the spaces

Let's go to the ice-cream van first - not that I think they don't need their freezer, but on a warm and sunny day like this I'd love to have some ice-cream!

Hmmm can't help but think that you are in the wrong hemisphere
Ok so A335846 it is... see you there, mind you tis a bit cold for ice-creams here

*Wrong* hemisphere? Oh no - I'm in exactly the right hemisphere for this time of year - and you've got nothing to complain about!
How often do you get so-called 'winters' with temperatures below zero C?

hehe well no it doesn't actually stay below 0 here in Sydney, but it does get cold, the prevailing winds at this time of year come up over the snowfields to the south...(yes Australia does have snow. It's just concentrated on one mountain) .

Sorry, I've been unexpetedly busy..
Do you get fewer hours of daylight during winter?
This way please!
Pond_Rat [life is weird - laugh at it.] Posted May 29, 2002
Yeah I figured you were "out-of-action" for a few days...
Do we ever get shorter days.
Summertime peak is Sunup between 4.45-5.15 am Sunsets around 8.30-9.00 pm - Nearly 16hrs of daylight wich is of course rather nice Daytime temps in Sydney usually range from 28C-42C, and often stay as high as the low twenty's at night.
But in winter that reduces to Sunup after 6.30am and setting by 5.15pm
fortunately the shorter days don't really start (at least you don't notice) til late April getting gradually shorter til late July and the longer ones begin to make themselves noticed around September. Daytime temps drop in witner to Low teens (very occassional single digit) and definitely gets as low as 1 or 2 at night - this all varies by location of course, and it [Australis] is a rather big place

Ha! I don't feel the least bit sorry for you!
Obviously I live closer to a Pole than you do - during the darkest time of winter we only have 6 hours of daylight - it's dark when I go to w*rk, dark when I get home..
..but on the other hand, the night is only 6 hours long during summer - and it's not even dark if the sky is clear, because the sun lights up the sky even if it's below the horizon!
Titania has tried to translate a very funny article about SummerSwedes and WinterSwedes - now where did I save that link? *rummages in drawer*

Great article One can understand their change in persona given the dramatic change in climate.
As an Aussie, I have no first hand experience of such dark, bitter cold...hehe nor do I want to. Give me a 'sunburnt country' anytime. ...
So I've narrowed you down to half a planet. Although given the spread of population on Earth I'd put dollars on you being "up" there anyway, all I need now is to work out which side of the little pond you're on then eleminate til I get it
Or you could just tell me
Or did I miss the obvious inference that you are in fact a SummerSwede?
*imagines beautiful blondes dancing naked in Alpine woods*

Kristina the Flamenco Dancer - PS of Duende, Muse Posted May 29, 2002
SummerSwede it is!
..I was light blonde as a child, but am rather dark blonde nowadays..
..and we don't have Alps - our mountains are much older and worn rather smooth..
..woods we have plenty..
Have you ever seen the film 'Ronja the Robber's Daughter'?
This way please!
Kristina the Flamenco Dancer - PS of Duende, Muse Posted May 29, 2002
It's based on one of Astrid Lindgren's books (does Pippi Longstockings ring any bell?)
Anyway, in the film there are some mythical characters - people used to believe in all kind of creatures..
..and one of them was a beautiful blonde woman (a wood spirit) who used to entice lonely men to follow her and get lost in the forest..
