I know what you mean...like BrownFurby and aka I also used to use web tv, only I was with nthell...So I know the prob's...frustrating 'ant it!, but I was helped a lot by people here.luckly,I now have a pc, but things have improved on the site for web tv users even since I first came...and its promised they will do more in the future so fingers crossed...

hi jofrog..it's getting worse again..due to telewest upgrade..(more like downgrade....)..now..(amonst other things)..if i try to access a long thread that digibox can't 'handle'..it makes this.."phissstt" noise..(makes me jump *everytime*......)..shuts down & re-boots..&..i've got the latest 'box'..replaced last week..
it's still a pleasure to be here..
i've got a pc..hope to be 'connected' soon..i'll still use this access..
..just noticed you've put..nthell..telewest is often called telepest..if NTL was/is anything like TW..i can well understand the 'hell'....

Yea, nthell certainly could live up to its name at times!... amongst other problems when I first joined this site using it I could not see reply button....I either had to keep going back to origin of post(journal entry etc) or some very kind friends supplied me with a typed reply link....thats when as you say threads would allow me to continue...often had to keep start new conversations at (discuss this button)
also for long time could not see any pictures or smilies! Fist time they came into view I was over
but thank goodness thats all in past....glad you will have pc soon it certainly makes things better.....well must

yes I saw your reply in "guestbook" I think as it was my first experience with web I didnt know any better so took it as the "norm" almost.
Twest sounds like it is quite a diffrent set up to nthell in many ways.
I certainly know what you mean about time flying while on pc,I have to keep an eye on myself or I find myself forgeting that I have other things that I must do.
well off to read a few things that look intresting on front page...have a good w/end and bank 'hol'.... were off to a 'barb-Q' tonight are you doing anything good?

hi jofrog....glad you enjoyed barb-q..you were lucky with the weather..i'm one of those people who head for the shade when the sun comes out....but it would be nice to have an excuse to head for the shade..
yes..yes....i've heard from mac..spent ages trying to help him with guideml & his introduction..i nearly had to ask for help from an experienced ACE....he was very eager..but was trying to 'run before he could walk'..i'll have to pop back to his page..see how he's doing..

i'm so very sorry..i somehow managed to miss this post 3 weeks ago..i can only assume you sent it on a day when i got a lot of 'posts' & it got onto 'next coversations' page before i noticed it..this is not the first time i've missed your post either..i hope there's not a....in the system..hiding them from me....hope i am forgiven....

i am enjoying being an ACE thanks..&..cheers for the ..though i've made some mistakes..one serious one..
i tried very hard to help mac..not sure i was much help to him..
i've also added SEM..(Supreme Error Maker)..to my name....in the abcense of a smiley..
i've also had my pc connected to the net..last week..it's brilliant..i can join in any coversation..not just the short ones....

No promblem, I am glad you have pc on net now it is great isnt it I know when I first got on-line with mine I was like "kid in sweet shop". Oh dear, I am sure you didnt make too big a error! bet it all got sorted in end.. Well not really what you would call intresting....Been busy though, re-decorating the kitchen...started of quite well but is getting tedious now!...I am not the worlds best with gloss paint it goes on fine, everywhere but where it should go on...only good thing is I have got some on my glasses so cant see the mistakes so much!! rofl
Computer classes... yes, that reminds me I was going to look into that too. Oh well, back to painting I guess. shall need a when its finished!! dont worry about having done much...its still nice to chat!!

hows the decorating..all finished..did you end up with multi-coloured specs....
i actually did some interesting things last week..but..i can't tell anyone....oh what the hell..a friend came to stay last week..we went for a couple of days out to southend..it was lovely sunny day to be on the beach..&..to london..although i don't live that far from london..i never go there..both were nice days out..even though i was a bit irritable at times..i've just stopped smoking..on 11th day of not smoking....was on 40+ a day..big drop from that to none..how have you been?..

Hi, Emmily, First well done to you! I wish I could. I smoke about twenty-five a day more on occasions you know what it's like. I did once give up for quite a while but was silly enough to have 'just one' and you know what happens after that. I did find that if I promised myself little or (big) treats if I continued not to smoke a help! till I weakened! Silly me.

Glad you had a nice time,Its does 'yer' good! I know what you mean we live near London too and other places but just never seem to get round to going.
Hope you went while the weather was so great. It seems it's gone again for now but it was smashing while it lasted wernt it!

I finally finished kitchen, looks quite good, but I think I will leave glasses as they are might start new fashion

Interesting things?... Hmmmm well going to the zoo this week with my daughter and grandson, haven't been since mine were little really looking forward to that, love watching the monkey's and apes they remind me so much of us in many ways.
