A Noble Defeat

Speaking of real football......
Scotland have just lost 2-1 to Nigeria. However, I am not too upset. Scotland played brilliantly, the new German manager (I forget his name, Bertie something) played a largely youthful team and it made a difference. They were full of confidenence and put the Nigerians under real pressure. Towards the end of the game there were several very impressive attempts at the Nigerian goal. We just need to work on the shooting and finishing.
You can say what you like, but after what feels like a decade of being miserable about the efforts of the Scotland team, I'm feeling this strange thing know as a sense of hope
