Thanks Si, glad to have it moving in the right direction again! My next real target is to get to 63lbs lost (that is 4.5 stone). Fingers crossed that the next 8 lb just fall off smiley - biggrin Shouldn't that be the *small* 60? smiley - winkeye

I am hoping that the health spa weekend that starts on friday will help to speed this whole process along - lots of nice relaxing, pampering things for us to do but lots of exercise too - will try to do an exercise class and a spell in the gym each day. The food is supposed to be healthy low fat stuff and there is no booze so I am bound to make some progress. Am fairly sure that the weeks where I don't lose anything are down to too much smiley - redwine at the weekends.

Seen any nice houses? I know you said you were probably going to put it off until the new year now but there is no harm looking is there? I am still looking even though we realistically can't buy anywhere until April next year...

Wow Kelli , you have seriously lost over 4 stone since you started this diet. I am amazed, that is one heck of an accomplishment.
The next 8 lbs will just evaporate mate, don't you worry.
For my job as a trader I have to study alot of trends and patterns in history, and lots of people say the same the same analysis can be used for any aspect of life. If you were to plot a chart of your weight loss, unless you go back below losing 47 lbs, you are still in a growing trend. Don't focus too hard on your goals, that can lead to dissapointment, just make sure you don't fall back below a certain level.

The health club sounds great, you'll come out relaxed, pampered and thinner, I hope your mum enjoys it too.
I know what you mean about the demon drink. Clare and I tucked into an expensive bottle of red last night, which led to us opening a packet of biscuits and some nice cheese too. Very naughty!

Nope, Im refusing to view houses till we sold ours. We fell in love with one which we lost, it is so frustrating, I'd rather not know.
It does make sense to keep a finger on the market to help guage fair values though, there aren't too many bargains around these days.

Good luck
Si

Hello! I am back from my Health Spa all glowing and rejuvenated! I think that was the best £280 I have ever spent, ever. It was completely wonderful, if a little tiring - I know that doesn't sound right but we didn't want to miss anything so we were up early every day and we did *everything*, all the exercise classes, the gym, the aquarobics, swimming - everything. We managed to fit in plenty of pampering around the exercise so I feel really good too.

The food there was fantastic - nice healthy buffet stuff for breakfast and lunch, then an a la carte dinner. Their menu indicated which of the meals were suitable for people on a low cal diet so it was easy to pick nice things without undoing all of my good work - and the low fat meals were really filling and tasty too.

I want to go there every weekend!

How's you?

Wow, sounds like you had a brilliant time smiley - smiley
Seriously considering arranging something like that for Clare's birthday next year, bet she'd enjoy all that pampering.

That's not as pricey as I thought either, I mean for all the activities and pampering you got, how many nights/days where you there? just the two?

Hope your mum enjoyed it just as much as you did.

Yeah things are good with me, you know, same old perfect life smiley - smiley

I included you in my h2g2 friends list on my user space, hope you don't mind.

Considering that is with all of the food and everything included it was really very reasonable! We went to Henlow Grange, there are lots of these spa places around but some are ridiculously expensive.

We did a long weekend package in a standard twin bed room - that was arriving after lunch on Friday and leaving at 4pm on Sunday. We crammed in so much it was like being there for 3 days. There are lots of packages and things on the net so you can pick and choose whatever you like. We had to have a weekend one because of my work, but weekday ones are available too. It had a facial, massage, and scalp massage included for about £250 each (after some random 10% discount - not sure what that was for) then we added a manicure and pedicure for another forty quid each.

It really was money well spent smiley - ok Clare would love it! You could go with her if you wanted - there were men there (although not as many as there were women). Do you fancy some looking after too? smiley - smiley

Errr no thanks, really not my scene. I cringe at the thought of doing stuff like that. Dunno why, just do.
Men are supposed to drink pints and talk about football, not have pedicures.
I have a hard enough time letting clare convince me to put on some hand cream cos my fingers got all chapped. think i did it once, then felt too much of a sissty and washed it all off lol. Stereotypes eh, dont ya just love the way they make you act.

Yep, you men are a funny bunch smiley - weird

James won't eat quiche because of it's supposed 'gayness' and he has a problem with cous cous too for some reason. I have been working on him though - I persuaded him to use one of my face masks a couple of months ago and he liked it so much that he got me to buy him some of his own (still won't buy it himself) *and* he uses it regularly!

You wouldn't have to do the girly things, but I reckon you'd like the massages - they were heavenly!

Plus you get to swan about in your dressing gown all day - you only have to dress for evening meals. It was funny eating lunch in a posh restaurant just wearing a robe!

I gave James a man's manicure once too, he liked that- just tidied up his cuticles and filed the nails and buffed them. I am sure you blokes would enjoy all this stuff if you would only let yourselves go a bit. One facial isn't going to turn you into Lily Savage you know!

Anyway, don't you think you'd look good with purple toenails? smiley - winkeye

Lmao we are a funny bunch indeed. I'm another one who wont touch quiche! lol.
If James found out you'd told another guy he'd had a face mask he would probably have to murder you, you do realise that don't you?

This would probably make a good h2g2 entry actually, things men wouldnt do cos they think they make them look unmanly.

I would sooner eat a tub of skin clensing milk than let it anywhere near my face, nononononoNO! Men just don;t do that! Wash with soap, shave with soap, bit of manly smelling deodoarant. No aftershave, except for birthdays and special occasions, nothing in your hair, nothing on your hands, nothing on your face. Jewellery is for girls too!

IT's laughable really, like you say, not going to turn us into lilly savage is it, but I really can't get over this built in machoism, we all fear it's a slippery slope, and we don't wanna take the first step.
Just goes to prove all men are silly.
