Oh, God. I'm being stalked !!
For the record, the Bury Times got it wrong from the beginning. I told them that there was no second round; that I was in the second HEAT (ie no competition necessary). I didn't make it through to the final, and so there wasn't actually any story.
Not that they cared:- they had a local lad mentioned in the sponsor's press release and wanted a piece of the action.
So... Captain. Are you really that local? And if so, so you fancy a face-to-face sometime?

I suppose you know that you've 'arrived' when you get celebrity stalkers!
I have to express my total lack of shock that the Bury Times got it completely wrong.
It's a local paper for local people - I'm in Sunnybank. I'm normally up for a beer, if you fancy it - we could sort something here, or you can email me on [email protected] .
Incidentally, there's a bit of a meet-up being planned for Friday November 23 in Manchester - http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A643943 - the more the merrier if you can make it.

I'm in for the meet-up.... if we can decide where to meet
I'm in mid-Bury, near Heap Bridge. If we meet up, how about the Swan & Cemetary? It's sort of equi-distant. I've got a busy week coming up, so how about next week?

Hmm - I detected a touch of indecisiveness too - I think nobody wants to say - Hey, lets go to this place and not that one. Me too, it has to be said.
The Swan suits me, I'm pretty much free next week (from Nov 5) - any particular day/time suit you? (He said indecisively).

Impressive!
Yup, sounds good to me. I'll see you then.
Hopefully I should recognise you, unless the Bury Times got the wrong picture as well! I'm 5' 8", glasses, short gingerish beard and hair, probably wearing a black leather jacket and some variety of hat. (And a gut. )
The name's Mick, BTW.

Geoff - I don't know whether you'd wondered what had happened to Stu, who we had that long chat with about vital points - he seemed to have gone quiet.
I got a 'change of email address' message from him today and went to visit his space to see what he's been up to ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U180444 to save you looking) - he seems to be having a rough time - I think he might appreciate a friendly word.
