Manitas de Plata
I discovered this site quite by accident yesterday and am very keen to take part. The subject I'd like to research is the Family Baliardo and other closely related families. The most famous of the Baliardos is Ricardo known to the world as "Manitas de Plata" the most influencial modern day flamenco guitarist of our time. Manitas (he can't abide the use of his real name) was the catlyst for all of the nuevo flamenco bands in the South of France, the most famous of them being the Gipsy Kings.
Sadly, I have very little spare time so building the page will take me some considerable time. But please bear with me, watch this space if you're interested, and hopefully together we can re-kindle an interest which has dwindled considerably in this country.
