Well they are still here, stirring up merry hell, aww bless
and tonight one of them has come in with their own tea but hadn't shown much of an inclination to eat it, however the other one has taken up the slack
thing is, I have me own late night tea good to go, in the microwave
also have decluttered like there is no tomorrow, steam mopped, even the painting is as good as done, there is hardly any washing up tomorrow, and Dr Who was
there is just now the pressing issue of, er, splatter, to be dealing with, I don't wanna look, why can't they just play outside
does anyone think I can make it to the microwave and back...

Ah mice splatter...
my cat has graduated from mice to all sorts of birds....
apparently he prefers prey that flies

Hmm, my kittie also like things that fly, mostly moths and butterflies, Spiller is putting the local absence of our butterflies and moths down to her.
Found a mouse head under me bed yesterday, , still better than swl's discovery of one ages back on a storage heater or similar, double
In more positive news, depending how you feel about I guess, Legless the house spider, who is missing a leg and has a distinctive crooky one also, was missing presumed dead but saw him alive last night

Hah! Could this explain the lack of moths and butterflies! Ohmigod, a mouse head under the bed?
Legless the house spider? . I'm really happy he's OK. I feel somehow involved. Does kittie have anything to do with his missing the 8th leg? And the bendy 7th?

I don't think the kittie is responsible for Legless being one leg less CC, now that the crane flies are on their way in he might get some respite, until the novelty wears off, crane flies are sooo boring after a while

Ah yes, the cranefly. Who named them Daddy Longlegs? I always call them Daddy Longlegs, although someone told me that the official Daddy Longlegs is, in fact, some kind of spider. Daddy Sevenlegs. . . Shouldn't laugh. But I think the cranefly is the official Daddy Longlegs.
They are about the only insect I let flutter over my face without making too much fuss about it. I don't know why. The cranefly and I. We're good.

in scotland or at least the part where I'm from we call them jenny longlegs rather than daddy longlegs... I dont know why

Baron Grim Posted Sep 16, 2014
A daddy longlegs is definitely a . They have small abdomens and long spindly legs and prefer dark cool areas.
Crane flys are fluttering winged thingies with long spindly legs that do very little for the creatures in the way of locomotion.
When I was a kid, heck, even when I was in my thirties, crane flies were misnamed as "mosquito hawks".
As IF! Those poor crane flies were obviously incapable of any swooping. You can't flutter around and hope to catch mosquitoes except by accident if they might get tangled in your dangly legs.
Then there is the great locust/grasshopper/cicada/katydid confusion... but I digress.

well, what is a spider and fluttery insect between friends, although I am fairly convinced that CC wouldn't want the spidery type on her face, so sometimes it would be good to clarify
A Jenny longlegs is a new one on me though not being Scottish but now I know what you mean, that might come in handy one day
Do you like or fluttery thing then CC?
Looking up mosquito hawks, mistaking a crane fly for a damsel or dragon fly, that is just a push too far in my book

Rather embarrassed to admit, in the corner of my eye I saw something flapping in water dish under a bush, stuck my finger in, thinking it was a crane fly and when I looked it there was a damsel fly on my finger.
Two today, both were surprises, I thought the kitty was going for Legless, so once little mouse was safely it its box, I made a coffee. I thought I could hear something in a clutter pile, nah, I thought, it is just stuff settling down, or Legless has his clogs on.
After 2 gulps of coffee, a drag on a cigarette, I heard scratching, so caught number 2 and then a luke warm coffee for me.
I am going to scout round just to check that the kitty is responsible and I don't have resident mice

Two not just alive mice but very lively mice this morning, they had nested and eaten, done the usual mouse stuff so Hiccup and I let them go.
The one that I had shot up my sleeve and was hiding down the back of my jumper, so Hiccup had to retrieve that one.
