So you blame the diminutive scittish doctor for your plight in coming here
He is a good chap really.
So why an I here typing this, well no reason. I saw your name in the online list and thought I'd come and say hello. You seem to have done some things I occasionally wonder about in your interestingr life. What was it that you started studying at uni?
Enough of this twaddle, I'll let you get back to doing something else now.
BHB?

Hullo, sorry it took me a while.
I use h2g2 as my 'home' page when @ work , so I might show up as logged on, but be doing something else, the boss is worried about online time, so I only pop in while doing official surfing!
I've known Munchkin for just over a year now, he lodged at a house I used to lodge at in my student days, some waggledance was involved and it went on from there. He's friends with anybody that feeds him I think
*pauses to stop the cat walking on the keyboard*
Life has been varied so far, & I'm not giving up yet!
I went to Uni., because I didn't know what else to do. I studied Biology, Chemistry & Physics at A level ( I was going to be a dentist, but didn't get the grades) Microbiology was the subject that grabbed my attention and off I went from there.
I'm not sure i'ts helped my career any, when you consider my current job, but I'm a firm believer in you past making you who you are, and I like 'me' so I wouldn't change any of it.
Your page suggests your leading a double life here, so who else are you?

Hello Toccata,
I don't worray as this place is full of people who lurk about not saying much (Waves to Coelacanth if she passes by this way).
It's through this here site I met Munchkin and we've met on a few occasion IRL as well. Mostly involving
Looks like you went to uni for the same reason as a lot of people do then At least you didn't end up as a teacher because you couldn't think of anything else to do. I went out and used my degree as part of my primary job role for a few years (I took Electronics then did chip design). Ended up in London a few years ago and I'm still here because it seems like as good a place as any at the moment.
I am me.
I am BHB? (beenherebefore?) which is my work account and also other person (generally known as Phil cos that's what I called my self when I first came here).
The main reason I came over here in the first place was that I saw your name in the online list and thought I wonder who that is. I guess you're into music in some way with a name like Toccata.
Later,
Phil - op - BHB?

A misleading name I'm afraid! I'm no more into music than most people, I just listen to many styles.
I took the name Toccata, for two reasons.
Primarily Toccata and Fuge in D minor by JS Bach (Everybody knows it, its the one Christopher Lee/Vampires play in the hammer films)
It's 'affected' me for years. I spooked a friend the other day when at a music festival, by spotting it on the first note & over-reacting ( Gary Moore does do a mean rendition of it though)
The Other reason
toccata \Toc*ca"ta\, n. [It., fr. toccare to touch. See Touch.]
Italian for touch, I apparently hug everybody when I'm drunk!
Anyway, I've got to go. I have to go to work (on a Saturday Morning! ) I have to catch up with accounting stuff b4 I go on holiday on Monday.

Just read my correction and realised I managed to get something in that wrong as well
Lack of sleep from the meet I say
It was most excellent Got to meet a few people and I still think H2G2 is a great place which attracts great people.
If you turn up to something and tell them you know Munchkin then you'll probably just get handed a and proffered sympathy
I still need to be in bed as my head isn't doing very much this morning.

Oi, what's this? I wander off for a couple of weeks rest and immediately have my character assasinated.
So, the Spring Onion was good then was it? Well peeved that I've missed all these meet ups this summer. I'll get to the winter ones though, that I threaten.
*This was not a Munchkin, because he is on holiday and would never be so sad as to lurk then. Oh, no.*

for that, I shall count my pennies, do some sums & see how I go, I doubt I can justify it, I just spent too much on hols, & I should be keeping an eye on the pennies!
Maybe next time?

Oh well never mind. I can't go to this one as I'm at a family wedding instead. I'll just have to wait and see what happens later on in the year as well.
