Ive been trying to figure out what you said that was so offensive but struggling.

Hi! I'm trying to figure that out myself... I seem to get into trouble without doing anything!

I think the problem was largely that I'd been 'friends' with someone who's very volatile and gets upset - on Sunday (my time) I said something that upset her, and I've no idea what it was ... (I was talking about my experience of working with people with mental health issues.) Then she jumped on a remark I'd made about homosexuals *in response to a question*, and the fat hit the fire!

I have seen "the thread" as it has run, and expected things to blow sooner or later. I had every expectation that you (Vicky) would be drawn in, and then probably shredded, viciously and gleefully. Not very much different from another, once Canuck, and just as haunted by what-ever the things of her past have been. The thing is, I have seen your posts over the past number of years, and while I sometimes symnpathize with your opinions, or have sympathy for how you get treated ... I also see some of it being brought on by yourself. Consciously or subconsciously, I don't know and ain't going to guess.

Anyway, in this case, blow-ups were bound to happen. Your correspondent has shown herself in both personnae as a volatile and unpredictable one. Happily slicing and dicing someone, as personally as she might, and then crying woefully around the site if she feels a return of 'assumed' intent. Don't take it personally. She is who and what she is, just as you are.

As azahar is found of saying, "it's only a web-site, fer **** sake". The real world goes on.

You're right, Rev Nick, I *do* bring some of it in myself - because I have a tendency to lose my sense of proportion!

The woman in question has said some utterly foul things about members of my family - *before* this latest blow up... So I sort-of knew it was coming. On Friday, I called her on one of the things she said, and told her it had taken her "beyond the pale"... She then told me that had been the idea. Of course, she's not telling anyone on any other thread about that part of it!

I understood that, I really did - the horrible temptation to say something to someone so awful that they can't overlook it, and then when they reject you, you can say "I always knew she didn't really love me"... and now, she's been saying to everyone that the thing with me reminds her of her mother - and I think, weirdly, she's put me in that role, whether I like it or not.

I am ashamed that I have played my part in the script. I ought to have known better.

It's all so wearing on my nerves!

Vicky, we have had many conversations and ive been following the thread and not massively seen a problem. Its all been brought to the attention of everyone due to the why? thread where there was a problem with someone else for butting in on your conversation with her, which now means people are aware of whats been going off. i had posted on the thread to basically tell her to turn the other cheek and got insulted, at which point she lost all my sympathy.

i am keeping an idea on the what do object to with God/ religion thread. ive agreed with most of what you have said so i will try to post a little more so they can attack both of us not just you.

Thank you very much for your support! It's all such a mess, and Rev Nick is correct, I bring some of it on myself - BUT sadly, that's not true regarding the latest mess!
