Here is the poem from Aug 27th 2001, I don't think much of it, in the time since, I have written at least 4 more, many of which are much better. Jimmy would be most upset if I said, but he writes poetry, including haiku that are very very good! The haiku are all he will admit to.
Following...
Not a Limerick
If I could write a poem
It would be about being in love
And knowing that love doesn't end
Even if the lover goes away
Or goes mad
Or both or neither and I ask
Is he trying to send
Me mad (or madder than I am)
I cannot really say

Hi Della ,
So the bard is surfacing within you! Well done.
The sign of a true poet is a constant dissatisfaction with your work. I have never been really satisfied with anything that I have written. The trick is knowing when to stop rewriting it .
I was once given some very good advice about writing poetry. The only way to learn to write poetry is to just write it. There is no bad poetry, only poetry you think you can write better next time.
So have fun!
Blessings,

Thank you for your kind words!I have a friend, Peter, who is so adept at poetry, he's a genius. He read LOTR, and wrote a tribute poem to Galadriel in pretty Tolkien's style - it was awesome!
