HOW MANY OF YOU JUST COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT YOUR CELL/MOBILE PHONE! TUT-TUT-TUT-TUT, remember what it is doing to that very valuable piece of equipment inside your head! You only get one!

I could live without a mobile 'phone, although recently it has become useful for communicating with a friend of mine who like to text.
The latest research provides no evidence that radio signals from mobile 'phones do any damage to your brain at all. All that stuff may just turn out to be paranoia. If your friends are anything like mine the conversations are more likely to rot your brain than the emmissions!

Pasht, no; life wasn't bad at all. I always said I wouldn't have a mobile, I didn't need one. I don't _need_ one now. When I lost mine for a few months this year I got by fine without it. But they are very useful, and their emergency uses can be very reassuring. A mobile phone isn't a neccessity for me, but I can see how it can be for some.
If I had children I would want them to have one for _emergency_ use, but I would discourage them from using for hour after hour as some do.
