It's the time of year again.
Tomorrow my wife and I will leave for Nijmegen for the Four day Marches. Four days of walking 40 KM a day.
As it will be our fourth time, we know what to expect, only the weather may be a problem. Tuesday 26 centigrade, Wednesday 28 plus ending in thunderstorms. Thursday and Friday probably a fine 24.
So I will be offline until Saturday at least.

Well, I am back, with a hurting foot.
The first two days were horribly hot, the second day even so much that for medical reasons the 40 and 50 KM were shortened by about 10 KM.
A thermometer in the sun rose to 45 centigrade
with 34 in the shadow.
The third day there was just a drup of rain, the fourth day a nice 25 centigrade.
Now get some rest, and then for two weeks walking in the Cshech mountains

I am almost recovered, just one blister left that is giving me trouble.
So it is quietly sitting behind the pc and delving through the b'log

At least 46000 people thought differently originally, but only around 41000 succeeded.
But it is not anything you do on the spur of the moment. We started our training already in januari, with 'short' walks of 25 km.
Almost the most important part is getting perfectly fitting walking shoes, several pairs so you can change between days.
The nice pub near our sleeping place was helpfull too
. Only after the walk of course.
