How to severely damage your kidney's in three easy steps....

1. Order a book through inter-library loan system at your university.
2. Make the mistake of assuming because previous inter-library loans from the British Library haven't set off the security gates when you exited, loans from different libraries won't either.
3. Walk forward in a purposeful manner of one who is about to exit a library.....
You will shortly become aware of a loud persistant ringing alarm and the fact you have a sharp pain across the kidney region caused by a large plastic obstruction with an exit sign on it at midlength height.....that is the barrier which usually gives way instantly.
Shortly following this realisation is a librarian running towards you yelling 'oops, I forgot those books are compatible and set the alarm off'....'try again and walk through now'.
So you do...and get the familiar pain in the gut for your trouble.
'Ok then, just give me the book and I'll hand it over the scanners for you' chirps your friendly neighbourhood librarian.
'ok' you croak thinks *why the 
didn't you mention you could do this earlier?*
Library hands over book over the scanner range and you hobble through exit doors and towards college rooms trying not to notice strange stares from fellow college students due to your current hunched over state.

Normal hair!

Mum's dyed her hair dark brown...its normal looking. she believes she won't scare the interview people as much now on tuesday and then they'll give her the job. I believe the last lot were scared cos mum knew more then them and actually gave a damn.
Eris thinks mum with normal hair sounds scary..its interesting....
still prefer the pink!

rare species & stupid FE colleges

Ok can someone please explain why when I left the college without completing a term I get a bill for £1100 for fees for the course I left way back in very early december of last year? Also why do i get a bill for £1100 when a) my mother should pay it and b) according to the LEA we only pay £200??
stupid stupod college. Ignored the bill anyways and sent it back.
As for the rare species i have found...wait for it...a doctor who actually listens to patients and perscibes actual medicine to treat the ailment!And when I say actual medicine i don't mean cheap artificial medicine which makes the problem worse cos I'm allergic to them but actually proper medicine! I keep going round telling everyone I have a doctor who actually doctors! I haven't have a proper doctor since I was 4! I mean sure i had doctors who had qualifications but tended to perscibe stuff that they thought was a good experiement but actually only suceeded in making things worse.
Wow!I have a doctor who actually doctors...

is there a college in the land which isn't trying to fix figures at the expense of students?

Just found out the HNC course I'm supposed to be doing to get into uni next year doesn't actually exist. The college has apparently put us on a degree course without telling us (degree students are worth x2 £ as HNC students). Furthermore the dept head refuses to speak to us until QAA have gone. Wonder why?.....
This leaves me and three other students without a chance of getting a place at uni cos if we leave we only get a cert of ed which isn't accepted, student debt for a worthless qualification and a heap of depression.
However I'm not going to lie down and let them win. The college has broken the law and we can prove it as they're still advertising HNC's. so what do we do to Colleges who get greedy for money at the expense of students???
That's right, we sue the pants off 'em!

moving and waiting

This relocation thing involves alot of waiting, waiting to put the house up for sale, waiting for the man to come and evaluate the house, waiting for UHI to send me answer for my course application, waiting for an offer on the house....you get the picture.
