Home schooled eh? Your parents did a good job. Tell them that, parents are often unaware that their kids realise this & if outsiders can tell, they did an extremely good job, give them a by letting them know maybe (on a day you are not peeved with them!)

Whatever, kids like you give us old farts hope that the planet *might* continue even in the face of the current stupid state of affairs!; i did my bit in the 70's, your turn now!

Er...be a hippie, wear jeans with on, tell my teachers that i thought the world could be a better place if idiotic people who adored money weren't in charge; basic rebellion stuff.

To be honest, i am 49 now & my views haven't fundamentally changed at all. At your age "they" sometimes give you a load of nonsense about "you are too young to really understand" but i don't think that's necessarily true; and i speak now from the position of having been a teacher myself for most of my adult life.

I know what you mean. When the US election was coming around, I was talking to this guy I know whom I really like anyway, but I was trying to explain to him that Dubya was such a butthead and the most unintelligent person in the world, but he would listen because he thought that I didn't need to care because I couldn't vote, so what's the point of caring that because of Jerk-Head Jones, (as I like to call him) the world was even more screwed up beyond repairing because of his incompetance.

Yup. It's possible to have very coherent political views long before you are allowed to express them by voting. Some people never actually reach that stage of awareness, no matter what their chronological age; which is pretty sad!
