I've been assigned to sub-edit your entry on Craig Ferguson. The new version's here: A23712626. Not much is different - a bit of punctuation and I caught one American spelling (archeology).

The only question that springs to mind is is that an accepted punctuation of the Late Late show theme tune lyrics? I'm tempted to go through it adding commas and full stops to the ends of the lines.

I'll let you know if anything else comes up, but I think the main thing for me to do is add a few more links (we likes our links here).

Looks good. You could link to Carl Jung A653429 in the bit about the novel. Also, change 'almost entirely improvised', or whatever it says now, to 'mostly unscripted', which is probably more accurate. This is in the bit about TLLS.

I'm not sure about the punctuation of the LLS theme. On the website it shows the lyrics, and there is no punctuation at the end of the lines.


I like Letterman a lot, too. He and Ferguson are my favourites, but I also like Conan and Leno, too.

I'm going to leave the lyrics. I noticed the Red Dwarf article takes a similarly minimalist approach. Hey, it's art innit, so it doesn't need to follow the rules.

Actually I'm not sure I ever saw the Late Late Show, but I like to give my sub-ed threads silly titles.

US Citizenship

Currently, Ferguson is awaiting approval for citizenship of the United States. However, in the mean time he was made an 'honourary citizen' of several towns and states across the country. This started in 2007 when he was made an honourary citizen of Ozark, Arkansas when he mentioned the town's name on television, complimenting their delicious catfish. After that, he asked his viewers to suggest to their mayors that they follow suit. Places including North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska, Texas, Nevada and Trenton, New Jeresy honoured him with 'legally meaningless' citizenship.

Okay, but one question: Who called it 'legally meaningless'? It could do with a footnote.

Craig said so, but I don't really see why it would need a footnote...

Well it doesn't seem clear to me that Ferguson said it himself, so I figured others would wonder "Who said that thing in quotes there?" On reflection a full-blown footnote might be a bit excessive, so I put it in brackets instead. Hope that's okay.

I suppose that's acceptable, you can probably send it in, now.

Fireball - Much as I like Parky and Wossy I don't think any British show has really successfully copied the American late-night format. It's more than just interviews and a few jokes.
