Entry 3 - 15/6/01

WOO HOO!!!!
Exams are over for another term.
With any luck I only have 4 subjects to go.
I'm sure I passed the first one, Darn sure I passed the second and hope like Christ I passed the last.
If I didn't, I not only have to do it again but I a have to rearrange my schedule as a subject I picked for this coming term has it as a pre- requisite.

One of the subjects I'm doing this coming term is Systems administration, and I have to load and use LINUX I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it or not.
My husband has been telling me for years to go to Linux. Now I have no choice.

The new semester doesn't stat for a month so I think I might have to get in early and get it up and running. Actually I will probably enjoy the challenge, I think I'm more secure in my self and my abilities to try it now, than I was in the past.

Well I had better get on with it. I also have to paint the inside of my house during this break and I haven't even decided where to start yet.

Entry 2 - 28/5/01

Well I am back.

I have just about finished the Prolog assignment. I need to get it out of my way so I can start studying for the exams. I have 2 open book and one closed. All three will be hard.

We covered a lot of new material this semester and not all of it related. I have had to learn some new ways of doing something I know. This is often harder than actually leaning something you do not know at all. Particularly when it takes some time for the logic of it to sink in and you still prefer the other way.
But such is life.

Day 1 23-5-01

Well this day One. New beginnings are always such fun.

I have to make this short because I'm struggling with an Assignment I'm writing in the language Prolog, the subject is Machine Intelligence A. The Dos version has some problems with the trace mechanism, which isn't helping when writing demons.

The lack of support from the lecturers doesn't help either. Universities are like any other work place; there are those who go to work because they love the job and those that do it for the paycheck.

I'm doing 4 subjects this semester, 2 are very well supported. This gives you heaps of confidence as to where your heading and what you are doing when you know what is expected from you.

However when you don't get feed back to simple questions you can totally loose the plot. Because what you think the questions means and what the lecturer wants are not always the same thing.

Such is the oreder of life.
//end.
