Why do you have 99 in binary code after your moniker Trin?

thanx for the welcome

Is that what it is????

oh dear... whats 22 then?

hi H.!

Post 4

Hammerstein

Hi Trin 22 would be 00010110 this is how it works with 8 bit binary

0 0 0 1 0 1 1 0

128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1

the numbers 2,4 and 16 add upto 22 using these numbers you can create any number upto 255

Kinda boring information but hey, numbers make the world go round

god that sounds corny.

"mathematics is the language of Nature" (Pi Movie)

But ti tell you the truth, I didn't try to make a No... I just liked the way it looked... and since I AM the Keeper of O's I's and lost pixels, I thought I should have some on my name... smiley - winkeye

I take it from the moniker you also subscribe to the brotherhood of things philosophy on the days of the week. Maybe we could just rename them all with the same name

HOLIDAY

sounds good to me.

Hi Hammerstein!

Just cruisin' on throo and spotted the name...Cool!

So....What happened to Rojaws then?

(If you don't know the comic 2001AD, this will go right over your head, sorry!)

Or is there some other reason for the monicker?

Mine comes from the fact that I go into hibernation when the temperature goes below 60C!

Winter HURTS!

hi helio

glad somebody finally rcognised the name im a big sci fi fan like yourself, im still reading Ive got all my old progs right back to the early 600`s ive been at it quite a while.

hi H.!

Heliophile

Hey! Not bad! No. 600 hmm?

I USED to have Nos. 1 through 250 at one point, but my then girlfiend (not a spelling mistake....!) threw them into the bin smiley - sadface.

My Bro'-in-law has got them from about 150 on, not in very good nick it's true, but he still has them, and gets it every week (He's 44!!!!!)delivered to his door...Make of that as you will.

My fave chracter has to be Durham Red! One REALLY foxy lady! Pity about the dental work, tho'... Slaine is also pretty damn' cool, sheesh, what a life he's led...I'm amazed he hasn't come to grief sooner.

Did you ever catch the "Bad Company" series of stories? Now there was someone with a warped mind!

hi H.!

Hammerstein

Yeah Bad Company did seem pretty good though I only got to see a bit at the end where kano was on a planet where all the dead came back as ghosts, a tad surreal.

My faves from my early days where chopper cos the artwork on song of the skysurfer was absolutely amazing, and of course everybody loves The Horned King I got the collected series on hardback. Im 25 and I hope 2000 ad is still around when im 44 cos ill still be reading as long as the stories stay as good. If you havent caught any of the recent ones ask your brother about Dexter and Sinister they are probably the best of the new wave of british comic humour.

Hmmm! Don't remember that particular Chopper story! Must go and look it up!

I've got the whole of Bad Co. in Graphic Novel format upstairs in the loft, somewhere, (SWMBO {She Who Must Be Obeyed} thinks they're a waste of money, so I have to be pretty sneaky when I get one!)smiley - biggrin

Dexter and Sinister sound like fun! You do realise that their names translate into "Right" and "Left" ?

Here's a blast from the past, do you remember the "V.C."'s?

hi H.!

Hey helio

sorry for not replying sooner the computer has taken a bacxkseat cos i just got a new home cinema and ive been treating myself to lots of lovely noisy movies.

Just watched a film called Dark City directed by the guy who did The Crow and its a sci fi classic catch it if you can die hard sci fi at its best

hi H.!

Post 13

Heliophile

OK, will do ASAP.

Have you ever caught the films "Dark Star" or "Bad Taste"?

Both have hilarious lines in them, (I like things that make me giggle!), Dark Star is a Sci-Fi movie with a superb twist! The book is quite silly too!
As for Bad Taste....The title says it all! Watch and crack up!
On your "Big Screen" with Dolby, it will be superb! Just look out for the bit with head and spinal column....Major side splitter! (No, it's not as bad as it sounds!) Very "B"-movie stuff, but excellent for all that.

hi H.!

Post 14

Hammerstein

yeah ive seen bad taste and ive got braindead the sequel thats really good much more of the same

however quite how peter jackson goes onto doing lord of the rings from there

well

thats anyones guess
