Debenham Suffolk
The most beautiful village in Suffolk.
I have to congratulate the other h2g2 'researcher' who has commented on Debenham in Suffolk. He/or she describes this most remarkable of villages as 'mostly harmless' and suggests that it is not even worth a visit.
By doing us this service, he/she continues to allow us to live in peace and not have to suffer the ignorance of those who can't be bothered to scratch the surface of this priceless gem of a place.
We have lived here for ten years. The two schools that were so briefly mentioned in my friends synopsis were our primary reasons for moving here. The curt mention they received hides the fact that both the primary and high schools are so highly regarded that families snap up local housing (no matter how overpriced) to give their children the chance to attend! The Debenham High School has been number 1 or number 2 in the education league tables for Suffolks' state schools for the past 5 years.
The presence of 3 pubs and a top class restaurant has also been completely ignored not to mention the numerous other groups and activities.
