I also thought that children I teach could provide entries, not even for edited entries, but just for personal ones. However, 3 months after enthusing them about the project, I still have to receive my first contribution.
We have set up a school space here- http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A535934
which is completely boring, so don't waste your time.

So true, if only the government would recognise that when testing them (SATS etc.)

What's your take on this GTC thingy? We've just had a sort-of staff meeting about it and most of us resent the way we're being bullied into joining when there's very little to benefit us. They can't even negotiate about teacher's pay or back individuals in legal fights, which the unions can.
Personally it reminds me of politicians, promising to do things and fight for our cause, while in fact the members of the council take home whopping salaries (did you know the chairperson takes home £80,000?) and achieve pretty much sod all on our behalfs. I've half a mind to just chuck it all in the bin.

I totally agree - I don't need any other body to represent me, that's what I pay my union subs for.
I've followed union guidelines, which is to register, but not to fill in the direct debit form, or indicate method of payment.
I was reading about the 35 hour week in Scotland. For every hour in the classroom, they now get 20 mins preparation/marking time - which is a lot over a week if you think about it.
