I've just read your prospective guide entry on The Wedding Present.
Brilliant, just brilliant.... Its so well researched and so obviously written by a real fan, its got to go in Sadly, I expect that when the Scouts and Sub Eds pick up the entry (as they surely must) they will want to kick it around and put it into a more "h2g2" form. I hope that they when they do so, they don't edit out the energy that your piece has got.Good Luck

Why, thank you kindly for your words of encouragement. I suppose I am/was a big Wedding Present fan, though of course not big enough so that I appear sad or anything. Probably.

Just had a quick look at your personal space with a view to commenting on something of yours, but there's nowt there. Still, two thumbs up for referencing Amnesty, though I'm not sure about the other reference. Mind you, when the local team is Exeter City who am I to comment on other people's footballing tastes?

Is Gilingham really that bad?

Yeah I know my "my space" is a bit devoid of anything interesting. Its a mixture of not really knowing what to say, not having the time to say it and a total inability to write in GuideML The piece thats there (all 6 lines of it or whatever) took me most of an evening to write!

BTW - Gillingham is awful.

Just wanted to say thanks for your support. The Wedding Present entry has now been recommended by a scout - I'll wait and see how much it gets edited. Perhaps our amusing little PR game paid off after all.

You wrote a really good article, so it was only a matter of time before it was picked up by a Scout. I doubt that our little advertising exercise had that much effect, but it was fun I look forward to seeing the edited entry announced on the front page.
