ACK!!!!!! They made me the boss
Duncan Started conversation Jun 15, 2001
My boss resigned and I called called in the Exec VP's office and was told that I'm 'it' now. Now I have to be honestly busy and show results!

Duncan Posted Jun 15, 2001
hehehe....there aren't too many left to make work.....I'm down to two other people in my department here.
Looks like I'll be drinking lots of
Anyway....I am doing well....kids are out of school and enjoying the summer, and I am ecstatic that I don't have anymore homework to deal with until the end of August!
How is your summer going thus far?

Forget the ... has far more caffeine.
My summer's going rather grandly so far... I've managed to not get a job and not get too yelled at by my parents, but the summer is young, and I *do* have half-filled-out applications on the desk... . I've also been writing an awful lot-- considering I just had a four month long writer's block, this is a *good* thing! 'Cept for the fact I write better at night... the later, the better...
Oh, yes, and I had a flute recital last night... didn't quite murder my piece. Seriously injured it enough to put it in the hospital, but not quite dead. Actually, according to everyone there, it was really good, and according to my sister (the ever critical younger sister !) she said I was the best flutist there other than our teacher.
I think that she's just trying to get something from me...

hehheehehehe...yeah, younger siblings tend to be like that
I have a little brother ( heehehe....little....we're both in our 30s and he is taller than I am )....he tends to be critical of me from time to time....but of course I *never* deserve it!
Welp....getting ready to take the kids to the flicks.....gonna get some and watch Tomb Raider

Yes, well, my sister constantly tells me that she's taller than me... which is true, but it's by such a slight margin (like an 8th of an inch) that it's really irrelevant. She'll end up being taller than me, though... she's only 14 and I'm almost 19. Which just makes her nickname of "Shorty" even funnier.
Ohh... Tomb Raider... lemme know if it's any good. I need to go see a movie sometime soon, preferably with my friends, and that's one of the ones on the list I [think I] want to see. Shrek's on there, too, with Moulin Rouge and A.I. when it comes out (I'm seeing A.I. no matter if I have to walk all the way to the theatre myself!)
Have fun!

I liked it....not Oscar material, but it was still alot of fun....lots of action....and of course, Angelina Jolie wasn't too hard to look at either
Saw the trailer for the new Jurrasic Park movie that comes out next month....it looks pretty cool....think we'll go see that when it hits the theaters.

Ah... men... *rolls eyes* I'll keep it in mind then... unlike most girls (or at least the "typical" ones) I'm always in the mood for a good action movie... 'specially if it's a sci-fi one.
They're doing *another* Jurassic Park movie? Haven't they killed all those dinos yet?
ACK!!!!!! They made me the boss
Duncan Posted Jun 17, 2001
Yeah...they're doing yet another one.....but Sam Neill and Laura Dern are back in this one. Looks like the reptiles are 'smart' this time . Never-the-less, I think we'll catch it....between Laura Dern and Tea Leoni, it should at least be worth looking at.
LOL - I'm single......I can drool if I want to!

Cool... always liked Sam Neil as an actor. I just wonder how "smart" the dinos get to be this time...

Hi there!!
Remember a while back when I took the munchkins to see Tomb Raider I said we saw a trailer for Jurassic Park III? We went and saw it today. It was pretty cool. I think it was worth the matinee price we paid.....I have a real hard time paying what they call 'full price' for movies anymore, so I only go at matinee times.....because there are some movies that just have to be experienced in a theater.

Quite true-- though I've only seen that apply to Star Wars flicks and stuff of that nature (first time I saw A New Hope all the way through was in the theatre... I never woulda liked it if that had been on the little screen). I don't know if I'll see Jurassic Park III in theatres... I may just wait and watch it at home. I wasn't too crazy about the last one, and besides, I prefer the books. *shrug* I'll have to see.
One movie I wish I'd seen in theatres is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I rented it a while ago and was totally blown away (yes, I read subtitles and I was still blown away, I love really good foriegn films!); how much better would that have been on the big screen?
The only movie I don't think was worth the ticket price was Titanic (yes, I saw it in theatres, I got one of the last tickets they had left, but I was 15 so give me a break!)... six bucks down the loo...

I saw Titanic in the theater.....I think that was a big screen must .
I saw all the Star Wars flicks on screen as they came out....those must be experienced in a theater. When I saw Star Wars when it hit the theaters, that was when a theater only had one screen ( a few had two ), and it was a BIG one. We stood in lines wrapped around the building for that one ( oops....there I go dating myself )

Not really dating yourself... at least around here during the 20th anniversary, people stood in lines every bit as long... In fact, most of the shows were sold out, I got into the last show on the last day the first one was on the nice screen (two screens at this theatre, one had the THX stuff, the other didn't). I don't know what will rival that experience...
but I'm such an insommniac... can't fall asleep...
