Oh well it must be Self Esteem really - although Bad Habit is also mighty fine, and Change the World from Ixnay... there you are, a top three
I've not seen The Offspring for about 4 or 5 years sadly....

Top three, hmmmmm. Thats difficult.
First would be Self Esteem. Then What happened to You? Last would be Dirty Magic from Ignition or Gone Away from Ixnay or Don't pick it up. Aaah too many.
Maybe my top three needs some work.
Went to see them in a tiny venue in Leeds. Just a couple of hundred people. I've wanted to see them for so long but something has always cropped up. They are probably the most exciting band I've seen live!

Hmm, was certainly the most physically challenging and indeed downright terrifying gig I ever went to - but then i was at the Manchester Apollo, which has plenty of space for many many hundreds of people, and it was packed as I have never seen it packed before - I was only able to get about 4 rows of sardines from the front before I got kicked in the back of the head once to often by 6 foot something massive army boot wearing crowd surfers, and then had to float over the barrier myself... makes the Foo Fighters gig I saw at same venue seem VERY tame by comparison, and it was not

I know what you mean about the Gig. I was completely shattered and drained afterwards. I was very close to going over the top of the crowd on a number of occasions but didn't really fancy it. Managed to keep my feet grounded, just, but there were quite a few crowd pushers, you know the ones that make the whole crowd fall over to one side and then back again to the other. What made me laugh was the diversity of the crowd. Hard moshers on one side and really young teenage girls who had dragged their dads along with them, on the other.
I've been to the Apollo quite a few times but usually for not as intense indie bands. Prefer the Manchester Acadamy though. Amazing atmoshphere for the size of the venue.

Hah!, there weren't so many young girls back in the pre americana days - it was just after ixnay came out when I saw them, and deary me, it was packed full of completely mental metal heads, goths, moshers, and random scary people - brilliant I am sure the average height of people at that gig was about 4 or 5 inches taller than the norm...
Thats why festival mosh pits can be dangerous of course - you get a very very mixed crowd of folk, and when some rock band with a large and boisterous band of followers hots the stage, everyone gets mixed up in one big pit, and too many crowd surfers and not enough crowd.... always makes for an interesting gig

So, been to any gigs recently?
Not quite a gig, but went to see Roots Manuva last Tuesday. More of a Hip Hop MC than a gig but live entertainment all the same.

NOt really been to a gig for ages - last band I saw play were sisters of mercy in Stuttgart, but that was about 6 months ago now I guess...
Ohm and I saw the edinburgh samba band last week, which was ace, as I know a lot of them, and they are some of the best drummers in edinburgh really, and completely kick huge amounts of drum ass. Fantastic!
