My front page was referred? Huh?
I tried to update it. It may have got overlong. I wanted to add a few things.
Whew.
Baffled.

Hi Arpeggio, you should still be able to edit it, I had a homepage (for a collaborative entry I'm part of) hidden a few weeks ago. I edited it slightly and it returned immediately. Other than that all I can suggest is the Help Desk again.
Peta is very helpful over there.

Orcus~
Thank you. They say specifically 'do not try to edit or it will just be moderated again', so I think maybe that's not the best course of action.
I don't really want to pester Peta. You know?
Thank you,

Oh she'll be OK over there, posting to the Help Desk is what she wants people to do. Too many researchers just whinge constantly about moderation and haven't tried to find out why - this is what does annoy her over this from what I've seen.

Hmmm, they've changed the message then since I had this problem then. It worked for me, you're probably right not to do anything though
Bye for now,
Orcus

There's no length limit on entries. Dunno what happened. My advice: wait for perhaps 4 hours - by which time an italic should have restored it or hidden it and sent an email. If it's not back by then, go edit it yourself, make a few changes, and send it up again and hope for a more reasonable moderator. Or split it up into a series of related entries...
It's back again...

Myre-
Whee.
Still think we'll take your break it up into pieces suggestion.
How is 'whinge' pronounced? I've not heard that. It looks like it should be pronounced 'winj', or 'hwinj'. My guess is it is pronounced 'wyne' or 'hwyne'.
The 'g' fell out of a Westbound ship, during a serious storm in 1643, somewhere over the Mid-Atlantic ridge, where it was accidentally swallowed by a geothermic worm, who susequently developed very painful indiggestion.
And the US equivalent is: 'whine'.
And what does 'a rant' mean, there, these days? 'To rant' is probably still what the dict'y says. 'A rant' is evidently slang.
A harangue? A case of hysterics? An utterly tangential remark on the emotional plus side? A largish wooden peg used to hold fence gates closed, in a remote corner of central Wales? What?
Curious er,
Arpeggio who has been up since about 28 hours ago... why? I think we forgot to go to sleep.
It's back again...

Whinge - pronounced winj - (or hwinj if you're scottish I guess).
Yeah it means the same thing as whine. Not used in America huh? Didn't know that.
Rant. I think many probably use the word wrongly. I would say "a rant" could be any of those things you say in common useage.
Personally I tend to use it when I go on a long diatribe about something I feel strongly about.
