I'm Malista, or Mal, a generalist mostly focused (*snerk*) these days on photography (and that is subject to change without notice, but most likely won't), based in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. We like to say we're in Northern California, but if you look at a map you'll see we're at best semi-north -- in the North part of Central, possibly. It's still a long, long, long drive to the northern border of the state.)
At the moment I seem to be waiting until I can include photographs in entries, since I have some useful, Guide-like procedurals written up already, but, being about photography, they are illustrated (hard to explain about metering for backlighting unless you can show what happens with different exposures).
Sadness at the loss of DNA. He was my age. He has been a hero of mine since his books hit these shores. It seems very wrong that he isn't there, just down the coast, being brilliant.
