Me
I am 38, going on 9½ single, a Civil Servant in what must be the least popular British Government agency (no not the CSA, a lot older and interested in your pay). Live in my dream flat in preston in England with lifetime friends nearby. Lapsed SF fan (except for 'Trek), war gamer (I play a ridiculously convoluted board war game called "Advanced Squad Leader"), drinker, music nut, film freak, humorist. He said.
I'm writing this on the day DNA died. Still can't believe it. Life is brutish and short but 49 is too much. The "Universe and Everything" seems a lonelier place...
So, what to post? How about this.
I disdain religion, pity the religious but delight in humours stories with religion as a theme. One I received in an email from a friend recently:
<<Nice little story I just heard on the radio from a listener who's daughter was in primary school. She had mentioned Jonah being swallowed by a whale and the teaches was trying to point out the flaw in this to the little girl.
'Jonah could not have been swallowed by a whale because though they are big animals they have small throats.'
'He WAS swallowed by a whale, or a big fish,' repeats the girl.
'No he wasn't it isn't possible.'
'Well,' says the little girl, 'When I get to heaven, I'll ask Jonah.'
'What if he went to hell?'
Pause.
'Well then you can ask him.'>>
I'm interested in this community because every time I have dipped in, I find decent enough folks who seem to have a good time, make friends and so on. Time to jump in.
