Research for 360

Having put a couple of worthwhile URLs in a conversation thread on the '360 - Changing the World by Degrees' bit of H2G2 I discover that they have been removed - but I can put them here! So here goes:

The Rainforest site where one may click to save rainforest land - [URL removed by moderator]

Water Aid - Thames Water (bless 'em) aiming to give £50,000 to dig wells to give over 4,600 people in Africa and Asia clean, safe drinking water. They need four million clicks - and they're more than halfway there already! It's [URL removed by moderator]

And also the Hunger Site - click and you feed someone. That's [URL removed by moderator]

Just cut and paste the URLs into your browser and start clicking...

Life...

The last time I posted anything was last May. Didn't think it was so long ago. In that time I have:

acquired a new girlfriend

put my flat up for sale

been on holiday to Spain with above girlfriend

lost my job (actually I didn't lose it - it just quietly crept away...)

made some new friends

generally gotten on with enjoying myself.

It's interesting stuff, life.

Computer

A couple of weeks ago I posed the question of what might happen now that I had become an h2g2 Researcher.

What happened was that my computer did itself a complete mischief last Sunday and now refuses to do anything when switched on but whirr a bit and beep plaintively at me, the cat, the world in general or whatever happens to be passing at the time.

Of course, when it's switched off it doesn't do anything at all.

At least, I don't think so...

An engineer is supposed to be coming soon to make it better again.

I hope he hurries up.

It's taken until now to get 'the other' computer out of durance vile in storage, set up and running. It's old and slow but it's better than the alternative, which is nothing!

Now that I'm back again I hope that I hear from someone.

Have a nice weekend, everyone. I will...
