Oh, I see now....that was in the days when I kept forgetting to subscribe to conversations on my own pages. I did answer it, when I eventually spotted it, but I went over to Bossel's own page so the conversation is over there. Simple answer: I've learned from bitter experience that I'm the kind of person who volunteers too easily, and ends up running ragged trying to keep up with her obligations. So I'm using h2g2 as a good practice ground in saying 'No, thanks!'

A contributory factor a few months ago was that, having set off the x-post controversy, I didn't want anyone to think that I was running to the staff for a pat on the head. I thought that had finally died down, but S/L seems intent on raking through the coals.....

Well, youre practising bothe saying no and fulfilling the job you are declining, that's both finny and interesting

And I do think it died down (quite).
