Hiya there!
I just thought I'd pop round and say hello!
I don't know if you have unsub'd from the library games thread, but I thought that I'd like to say this:
Don't be so self-depreciating about your humour! Look at the down side of mine:
>immature (however, looking forward to the new series of Frasier next week)
>hence student based
Whereas yours is:
>mature
>intelligent
>thus much advanced
Please; you are as funny as you are, and no-one need say any different!
How are you though? I see you've got lots of stuff lined up as entries! I'm unfortunately stuck in the tennis/sport rut (see personal space for too many sportspersons)
Stay ,

Thanks, Witty Ditty!
I meant to reply on that library games thread, but I was busy for the last couple of days, and then I'm a bit wary of cluttering up Peer Review threads with digressions, so I left it.
Anyway, I'm touched that you were concerned, but there's honestly no need to worry. One of the things that I find funny is that most people are so horrified if anyone else thinks they have no sense of humour. So if I say that you might think I have a poor sense of humour, that itself is a little joke from my point of view (hence the ). I'm not running myself down out of lack of confidence, instead I'm confident enough that even if you did think that, I'd be rather amused.
After a few months of it, I find the real minefields in Peer Review are for reviewers rather than submitters. Once I start to comment on an entry, I normally feel obliged to stick around, but there are so many things to be wary of. I'd hate to scare anyone away, so I always try to say something positive, but I also feel it would be very dishonest to give false hope to someone whose entry hasn't much chance. If I'm saying something that could sound harsh, I try to emphasise that it's just my opinion and others may not agree, and I try and dole out criticism in manageable doses, depending on the submitter's response. A little self-depreciation is usually sugar on the pill, rather than any real modesty on my part!
So I'm fine, and thanks for asking! At the moment, I need to buckle down and sort out a lot of half-finished entries for my University Project, then I'll relax a little and polish up one or two lighter entries for Peer Review. I wouldn't say you're in a rut with the sportspeople - you manage to make them sound interesting even to a very non-sporty person like me, and I can't think of anyone else who would achieve that! Your entries always seem to have that spark of enthusiasm that makes people keep reading, so I think you're doing well in your choices.
Stay indeed!

Back again!
I just read your 'prolific' writers thing on the interestingly named 'Lifetime suspension' thread, and I just want to say - I'm touched Speechless; in a nice way of course
No-one has described my work in such a way before - I'm typing with a fixed smile on my face now; you've probably made my week, and weeks after that!
Thank you have a on me!
Besides that, you seem to be headhunted for the scouts volunteer system! How is the Uni project going on? If you need any help, drop me a post - I'm going back to London next week, so I might have another good look around the Royal Albert Hall after the last time I went there; my first live opera experience. It was so wonderful; just tear-jerkingly beatutiful.
I've just carried on with the sportspersons theme and written yet another (this may starte to be regular...) tennis bio; I was wondering if you could pass your eyes over it; I'm not putting it in PR just yet, there are far too many of my entries currently in there...
Anyway, thanks again, and stay !

...and it would probably be helpful if I posted the link to the bio...

Oops!
I'm sorry I didn't get back to you - I had a quick look at the Borg entry, and intended to get back to it and do it justice with a careful read; then of course I got distracted and completely forgot. I've posted my comments to the Peer Review thread.
About the comments on the LS thread - of course I'm aware that some people have left, or pulled back, and I'm sorry about that. It's the notion floating round that somehow these people are more significant than any other small subgroup that rather annoys me. There's bound to be some turnover of active membership, and I feel as long as the supply of interesting new writers keeps up, the place can afford to lose the occasional member, no matter how active they might have een. So there you are, you and Caper Plip and whisky and a few others who are conclusive proof that we are getting active new writers....I couldn't resist citing you.
