I don't really know you, but wanted to say "thanks!" for your comments on the "lifetime suspension" thread. It took some courage to stick your neck out like that. I think knowing who the "mysterious, respected researcher" is will make people on all sides of the issue feel more comfortable, especially as it seems relatively clear that you weren't out with a vendetta against anyone.

I don't know if I would have gone through with it if I hadn't seen Colonel Sellars' post. But I certainly felt that since a 'Jewish American Princess' had been insulted, it would be a good idea to make it clear that the yikes-er in this case was over here in Ireland, and that any dealings I had had personally with Arpeggio had been prefectly civil (though I do admit to being a bit wary of such a complex and demanding kind of person). Also, I think it is fairer on Mark and Peta to let people know that there's no question of any off-line friendship or communication here.

Ah well, I hope that things settle down. I never knew this place before moderation, so I can't say that that issue bothers me much (though I feel the German researchers especially are numerous enough that they should be able to post in German). I hope that Lucinda/Martin is able to come to some accomodation and return - he seems to have committed a lot of himself to the site, and it would be a real shame if he felt he couldn't stay.

Anyway, thanks again - I think anyone who visits this page will certainly realise what my main interests are. I'll never dare enter Greebo's quiz now though - having admitted I like puzzles it will be embarrassing if I'm always wrong!

I COULD be wrong, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm the Jewish American Princess that was referred to. Even though I'm not Jewish, and I'm an empress, as anyone can see. Some people have misinterpreted my involvements with LeKZ over the last couple of weeks to mean that I've been on a vendetta of some sort. That wasn't the case, but I think they still don't understand that.

I appreciate your exposing yourself, and even more so the reason you did it. It means a lot to me.

I must admit that when I saw you refer to yourself as a MoGgie, my mental image contracted drastically - my own little moggie here is a very unthreatening and far from blasphemous cat.

Yes, I thought the J.A.P. was intended to be you, and after the effort you put into making a truce I certainly think you don't deserve to get any blame in the present incident. Hence (with a lot of encouragement from Colonel Sellars' stand), my explanatory post.

I hope things will calm down, and that some of the others who are still so upset will rethink a little.

I'd never even HEARD of a moggie until Lucinda included it in the name analysis. But since I'm also Magnolia Thunderpussy (albeit temporarily incommunicado until I figure out a way to use her on h2g2 without offending folks) I call myself MoGgie sometimes now, when I'm being playful. It always blows my mind when other people perceive me as threatening, though.

Take care! Things will calm down when people get over the anger and start to use their heads. It just takes a while, sometimes.
