I had a Dally called Meg!

Dally being the familiar term for Dalmation! Funnily enough, she too was rather a traveller; I was living in Qatar & brought her from England. She was deaf, which did not make any difference at all to her abundant sense of life; in fact, one of the reasons I went to this particular kennels was the fact it was vehemently opposed to Kennel Club policy of destroying puppies if they were either deaf OR had "the wrong sort of spots"!!! (hmm, try telling that to your average teenager!) Meg also traveleed (eventually!) to the United Arab Emirates & Pakistan.

So, we seem to have a few things in common here, apert from both experiencing the joys & frustrations of attempting to transport our familiar friends around!

I am usually to be found on h2g2, which is where I discovered you, obviously you are a good friend of Abbi; one of the most amazing characters I have ever met!

You also hail originally from Birmingham; a small world indeed! Which bit?

I too am a writer, if you visit my page & go to the link for The Hootoo Home of Today you can see some examples. My ambition at the moment is to continue with this, but somehow find someone who might actually pay me to do so! I would be fascinated to learn how you managed this; I actually sent off something to Bella recently , but unfortunately got the standard rejection slip; I am not disheartened though, since it is the first one I have recieved; everything else has been accepted; most unusual for a would-be writer!

As for the spirituality and such, yes, I too "believe" in something, but it is certainly my own version & as such probably draws from a multitude of sources.

Please feel free to have a jolly good lurk on my space. I would love to talk to you further. I would also like to find out more about 360; I actually almost joined a long time ago; but got hooked into hootoo instead; maybe it's time to see what I missed?

Lovely to meet you, please say hello to your canine friend too!

Well I'm very flattered! I love Damnations (which is what my Best Beloved calls them - having had experience of one!). They're quite my favourite breed of dog after Beagles.

I was born in Harborne and, after 'expotitions' to all sorts of other places, I lived there again when I got married - in Serpentine Road and then Croftdown Road.

Didi is 'selectively deaf' which means she can't hear a thing if she doesn't want to i.e. if I want her to come or give me attention when she's busy. But for some reason she arrives in the kitchen within minutes of my starting to bang saucepans around or getting food out of the fridge.

She's snoring behind me now. She's been a bit off colour (needed her anal glands sorted - did you really want to know that?? smiley - weird and she chews her paws when that happens. Took her to the homeopathic vet (who I hope is going to join 360) and she prescribed marrow bones! I like that kind of prescription! smiley - smiley

I'll have a lurk on your space tomorrow - when I'm in at work. Broadband makes it a lot easier to poke around between the sites.

Let's talk! smiley - rainbowsmiley - magic

Hi Maggy/Meg,

Yes, do let's talk!smiley - biggrin

I've just got here from Zarquon's page actually, catching up on a lot of backlog; sorry I didn't reply earlier.

I'm having a bit of an ego-boosting week as far as writing for hootoo is concerned, my usual Hootoo Home of Today, plus a book review I did ages ago both in smiley - thepost, plus a collaborative article contribution on the front page!smiley - flyhi

I don't know Harborne that well; I'm one of those old Moseley types, I'm afraid, though I did share a flat on the main road that leads to Harborne; can't remamber the name of the road; but can remember the names of my flatmates:

Ankaret Karma and Galadriel Morningstar!!!!

I should think that well & truly places me within the timescale & lifestyle category!

Did you know that we have started a Birmingham User's Societysmiley - bus on h2g2? It's at A899760 if you fancy popping in & saying hi!

Do say hi to smiley - dogfriend for me!

squeak soon, feel free to lurk as much as you like!smiley - biggrin

Coo...you do a lot on HooToo don't you?

I think it might have been Harborne Park Road? That's the one that goes up to the Bristol Road by Sainsburys.

I had lots of friends who lived there when I was a student (though I was in Cardiff so I didn't live there smiley - laugh) The rest of them lived along the Pershore Road or in Moseley itself.

Bernadette, one of the 360 ACEs lived in Moseley for a while. I used to walk the beagle there a lot - in Chantry Park when I could wrestle the key out of my ex. He wasn't my ex then...and he used to play tennis there.

The house we used to live in, on Croftdown Road, has been completely rebuilt and sold on for loadsamoney. We had a huge, deep air raid shelter in the garden and couldn't find anyone who'd take it down. It went up and down about 20 feet in all and it was always flooded and full of

I'll go and have a pootle on the Birmingham page....
