Me again.
I see you are very busy these days. But when you get a moment you might want to take a look at this:

Would love to *see* you there!
How are the kittens?
kisses,

Email sent!
Kittens are adorable and funny. Trained one to pee and poo in the toilet, the other one just flat-out refuses. Any hints?

So, I guess they aren't kittens anymore . . . are they still using the toilet?

We still call them kittens. They still come running to the call "KITTENS!" so they must be, right? Thought so.
We went to England for two weeks recently and gave them a litter box for the duration just in case no accidents happened involving cat pree and sofas. Now we are in the process of re-training them. It's already done for Henry (the little love) but Toria is a stubborn bugger. We've got her to pee in the loo again but not poo. She plain refuses. Grr.
Know of any tactics/websites/suggestions?
How is sunny Spain?

In case you don't already know, Nerd is a nerdy teenager who thinks he is much more clever than he actually is. And he tends to shy away from (when he doesn't totally run away) a direct challenge.
Just in case you ever feel like you might be wasting your time . . .
How are those kittens, btw?

Oh, I know. I'm going to stick to it for now though.
The cats are great. One is a particularly fine study helper and LOVES it when I'm home in the day (purrrrr).
You have numerous cats too dontcha?

Quickly reached the conclusion that he his beyond help.
I tried ever so patiently to take him through it in small, logical steps that he does not get. He doesn't get it so badly that he accused me of not being logical!
Amazing.

Yeah, I've been kind of wincing my way through his posts. He is simply - oh, how do you atheists say it? - narrowminded. And totally blinkered by his faith. Ho hum.
Used to have three cats, now just the two boys (Lua died last year). They're both getting up there now - Sunny is 12 and Azar is 10. Sometimes it's amazing to think that they have been in my life for so long.

He really has got a vital bit of his brain shut down. It's quite staggering to come across it in such a direct manner.
I've had my cats for nearly two years now! I cannot believe it. I'm starting to appreciate what you're talking about.

And still you keep on . . . and even Noggin has tried.
Seems to me Nerd is simply basking in all the attention. IMO he seems a very lonely and possibly socially inept teenager who can't believe his luck that so many INTELLIGENT people here are spending time talking to him.
But he doesn't respect any of you - or appreciate your efforts - he's just getting off on the attention.
He also isn't interested in debate.
Which is clear from his posts.

I actually do feel like it's my duty to keep on explaining in a patient way. It's a part of my job description as an evolutionary biologist. I think I might be making progress, but it's one step forwards, two steps back a lot of the time.
I love Noggin's contributions. I am constantly amazed at his conciseness (?) and choice of words.
I think I'm building respect with him, especially when he can see how I *could* be talking to him when he reads Hoo's posts.
We'll see where it goes.

I think you, Noggin and I would get on very well IRL. Especially if sangria were involved.
Posted something. Unsure if it's what he's looking for. His question is too vague...
I appreciated your post on the Nerd thread. I'm sitting back right now because I don't have much time and he's being a petulant teenager. He won't learn a thing. Never will.
G'night from route 66...

I think so too. Though I hve to admit I haven't sampled sangria yet.
Wish I could claim that the phrase "descent with modifiction" (or even modification ) was mine, but I think it's actually Darwin's.
Have a good one.

I'm not sure how you've managed that! Well, that situation will no doubt be remedied during the mini meet.
Sure you can't make it, Ste?

Ha! In three short weeks you've gone from trying to maintain patience and understanding to calling scum by its true name.
Well, nobody can say you didn't try - it was a truly valiant effort no matter however doomed from the outset. Same goes for Della, in case you haven't figured that out yet.
So, how was the holiday? Any photos?

Not believing in evolution because is one thing, open homophobia is another. If there's one thing that gets my goat... Such ignorance and hostility! Della's dehumanising of gay people really shocked me too. Both were disgusting. Della and I have a sort of truce. I still call her out when I disagree with her but she doesn't respond in her usual combative way to me anymore. It works.
I have 800 pictures - nearly 2 Gb of photos. Arizona is a very pretty place. When I get them organised (well, "if") I'll flikr them.
How've you been keeping?
