Hello, I'm Zathras and I am an Assistant Community Editor (ACE), and I'd like to welcome you to h2g2!
If you are finding H2G2 a bit confusing and bewildering (I know I did at first) there are lots of options to get help.
For now, if you need any help either click the help button to get access to the help documentation or, if you prefer a more human(?) face simply reply to this message - I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
If you're planning to dive straight in that's fantastic (the life of H2G2 is its researchers)- but before you start writing articles you may want to check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/GuideML-Clinic
It's an introduction to GuideML, which is a ML (like HTML) we use in the Guide. It's very easy to use, and makes Guide entries look so much better.
Remember if you need help or just want to have a chat, feel free to reply to this message.

HI,
thanks for writing. I've never done anything in HTML, so I'm really new at this. Where do I find out how to make breaks in my text to for paragraphs? I've been over the guide page, maybe I just didn't know what I was looking for. I tried inserting
but that didn't work, or should I have included each text block in TEXT

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. However if you have written the article in Guide ML already you should put a at the start of each paragraph and a at the end. This will means each paragraph is automatically processed by the guide and appears correctly.
If your entry is not currently in Guide ML (you can tell when you hit the edit entry button) you can have the guide automatically convert it into GuideML. However all this does is puts the and texts in place it won't automatically convert your paragraphs.
H2G2 is a very firendly and tolerant community so feel free to experiment with GuideML in your articles, no one will laugh at you if something goes wrong.
If none of this helps let me know and I'll try again.

A small suggestion.
You may want to create a separate article and put your material about "stachybotrys, aspergillis, and penicillium" into it. (You can create new articles by pressing the Add Guide Entry button) and leaving this page as your personal page (which would contain the where I work and about me bits and some other stuff about your interests)
Not obligatory of course.
