Personally, I prefer bolt actions, but I do have a reference library on firearms. Of course, if you have Ezell's book on Kalashnikov and Stoner, then you need no help from me.

Thanks sorry I haven't replied but I have been out in the jungle and so could not get onto H2G2. I am now back and they can no longer track me down. The project seems to be a little dead in the water at the minute due to lack of time, I would be glad for any help and if you are willing to give me a hand I could make you a listed researcher (however the hell that works!) I am a big fan of the AK, to my opinion the finest projectile weapon on earth (although bolt actions are very nice all the same), and just want to see it done justice.

Well, stay away from the Kalashnikov website. It is close to useless.
They keep referring to it as a submachine gun.
As with the Brownings, I find the man almost more interesting than the weapons.
And despite the circumstances, I wince when I think of all those poor fellows who had to get by with a PPSH41!
