computer system file crash continued...

so i went home and i checked to see if i could restore my registry but the PC said that it is done automatically...not manually

ok so i was looking to the system help and i found a program CAlled "Dr Watson" and it diagnosed my pc as having 2 hooks by shell programs that came as part of a software package with my picture scanner

i don't know how to properly delete these shell so i'll have to try dell support or something....if that don't work my friend will have to install a new OS ah

computer system file crash

So I was sufin' the net on Sunday...nothing out of the ordinary....and then alluva sudden BAM!!!! My Pc went black and only an undercore line was flashing on the black screen!
I didn't have time to panic, my JOo Janta peril sensitive sunglasses were outta reach!
So then i ticked the Escape key or something and the pc asked me if i wanted to restart in Safe mode...I didn't know what to do so I kept pressing escape and all sorts of strange questions kept on asking me if I wanted to restart with the files or programs that the prompt listed.
So i pressed escape through everything...thinking that since i didn't know what to do the best way to deal with the problem would be not to answer any of the questions. However, as i got to the bottom of column of prompts i saw that when i pressed escape the pc answered no to every choice.
Then the PC turned to the blue death screen and it said that SOME SYSTEM FILE HAD BEEN CHANGED THAT I HAD THE OPTION TO DO A SYSTEM RESTORE BUT IT "MIGHT NOT DO ANY GOOD"
So the PC restarted and I noticed that now every time my mouse arrow hoovered over any icon on the pc, the PC seemed to be busy...you know how you get that hourglass picture when the PC is processing something? (well for my pc instead of an hour glass it is a little bee cuz i used some nice destopk programme that allows for this)- ok so i got all confused and wasn't sure why the PC seemed to be busy when i was just simply hoovering the mouse over the icons on the desktop.
Hear was pumping so i rushed to do the system restore thing....it restarted but I don't think it did much...I MEAN HOW DO I KNOW IT DID ANYTHING cuz the pc still seemed busy whenver i hover the mouse on any icon on the desktop at any time (well except for yesterday...it did not do this for a while, but after i opened MS word it started doing it again)
So i decided that the best thing to do would be to shutdown the PC and comeback to it some other time when i wasn't panicking...So the PC begins to shut down...but then it gets stuck...so ended up restarting one more time before i had to shut down!
Ok so i was all angry by then and i unplugged the plug and the telephone cable (which later i found out that i did not unplug the right one...but this did not matter cuz for some other infinite improbability of coincidence my phone line was knocked out anyway).
So i returned 2 days later and turned on the PC...i was wishing that it would all be ok...It does not appear catasthropic (yet) cuz i simply used MS word again (and ofcourse the PC still seems to be doing something when the mouse cursor hoovers over the desktop).
So I wrote an essay...and i figured that as long the PC didn't crash on middle of me writing my paper...that than i wouldn't be as mad.
Luckily it didn't crash on me ....so atleast the badluck streak did affect my school work.
So i wanted to go on the net...and i didn't know that my phone line was still plugged cuz i had unplugged the wrong which had nothing to do with the modem but like i said b4 by some infinite improbality it had been knocked down anyway. So i said ok ...so i can't go on the net...and i thought that that was fine cuz i was surfin' online when the crash happened...
When the PC crashed i ran a system scan of the Programme "Adware" that some one posted about in the "talk" section of h2g2 and i found that i had a spyware [i ran Adware a week before the crash and PC identified no spyware in my system]...but i hadn't downloaded anything since the week i downloaded Adware. {the story goes like this...at same time i downloaded Adware, i also downloaded the new zone alarm firewall, internet explorer 6 and a security patch for internet explorer 6}[so the installation went fine and i figured that i was protected from just about anything until the new versions for this downloads arrive]
So the irony is that i had upgraded security a week ago and the next week I ended up with this horrible system crash!!!!!!!!

SO i have this idea to try today. I'm goint to try restoring the "system registry" [if it can actually be done i don't know yet, but i'll see if i can] this is about my last option.

SO IF ANYONE OUTHERE IN SPACE HAS ANY IDEA ABOUT HOW TO FIND WHICH SYSTEM FILE WAS CHANGED AND HOW IT CAN BE REPAIRED.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST TO ME.

PHEWWW...I FEEL BETTER THAT I GOT ALL THIS OUT
